Great even performance. I thought North played really well and moved the ball very effectively at different stages of the game. We accounted for them easily. Very impressive.

I thought Elijah was quite poor early but he really grew as the game went on and looked like a player by the end. A bit of flair and skill.

Harry is just a revelation. We are so potent with both big guns firing. Cant wait until Jack Martin can provide the third option and Jesse is there crumbing. It will complete us.

Norths list build is an example of why best available doesn’t work. 7 first rounders on mids. 1 on a gf/mid and none on talls. Given they can’t attract talent they are going to need to find them in the state leagues if LDU is going to see finals

IMHO, they never picked best available with each pick

Logan McDonald was their big miss.

Did what a top side should do to a bottom side. Smashed them. Wasn't a very up and back game, was pretty much win the clearance then kick a goal, which explains why some were so quiet. Rebounding defenders, onballers, Hollands and Cottrell who thrive in running up and down the ground many times etc. We monstered them really, physically outmuscled them. It's good to see us kick a big score and really put a side away.

Acres - He's an outside player, a winger who can join in on the inside. He was busy, he runs hard and to the right spots, his wing game is next level.

Boyd - Not a heap to do for rebounding defenders. Played pretty hard, a bit too hard for Marchbank's sake.

Carroll - I thought he was good. If you watch him play, the pressure he puts on around the ball is really good. His TOG has been low all year so his pecking order position is low in that midfield. Personally I liked his game.

Cerra - All class. Didn't have to have a massive game, we stuck him at half back running through the square and he was great later in the game.

Cottrell - Quiet neat little game. Because there wasn't a lot of up and back play requiring hard running, it didn't suit him.

Cripps - Again he didn't need 40 possessions to have a big impact. He's running really well, he dominated clearances.

Curnow - He switches on for the big games, he was half switched on and still played well and kicked 4.

DeKoning - It's nice having a ruck who can jump at the contest and is mobile like a key position player. Just would have liked to see his marking game a little stronger. His ground level and general play was good.

Durdin - Was lively, kicked 2 which was good but was subbed out so perhaps we were looking for more. Didn't touch it much.

Fantasia - Came on late and was into everything. Think he will be back in the main side next week.

Fogarty - He's a much improved player. Got a lot of it as a half forward. He feeds the ball off well. He's not a goal kicker but he is a ball winner.

Hewett - Was a beast at the clearances, played a really good game.

E Hollands - He was really good. Scrappy start but he won a lot of the ball and his running looks really strong, finished the game off running really hard. Think he has a lot of ability.

O Hollands - Had another quiet game but again it did not suite outside players who rely on doing a power of running as there wasn't the up and back play. In saying that it probably means he needs to gain more inside balls.

Kennedy - OK game. There were far too many moments when the opposition cleared the ball and they just ran away from him. Did find a bit of the ball which was good. He's a bit in no man's land at the moment with his role.

Marchbank - Coming back from a long layoff but he needed the game to start building form. Didn't need to be taken out by Boyd. Didn't start well, as expected he's a bit rusty, but was ok defensively.

McGovern - Great game, great player, only made a couple of mistakes really, he's ideal for the role he plays. Great closing speed at ground level and strong in the air.

McKay - Torched them. Great in the ruck, marking and kicking are great.

Newman - Not a lot for him to do but he quietly went about his business.

Owies - Worked hard at it all game and finished with 3 goals. He just scores. I don't know what people want our 3rd most dangerous forward dropped each week.

Saad - Strong game, but again not a heap to do for him.

Weitering - Came back strongly, will be better for the run.

Williams - He did what he had to do, had a solid game.

Hows this tap from Fog.....very smart play

3Q - 19 min mark

Fog taps the ball over to Ollie - instead of trying to mark it (was a bit difficult to mark).

Ollie catches the ball and turns around his opponent and hand passes back to fog.

Fog delivers to f50 - Durdin then goals.

Just wanted to show an example of smart play.

If a mark is difficult to take then tap the ball to a team mates advantage. :handok: :handok:

Listened to a few interviews over the weekend.Heard a lot of “played my role” a lot.Seems to be engraved in our players really like it.

They are all working hard. Not always smooth chains but there is always someone running to help out, be an option or put pressure on. Looking forward to the Freo game.

Marchy was the biggest takeaway from the game for me.
In the history of the game has a player ever been knocked out by his teammates arse landing on his head?
You couldn’t make this s**t up….I lol’d
I did too. At the shear absurdity of it. I mean here’s a bloke that’s a gun and missed a lot of football with whatever injuries etc. then the footy gods find him a new way (likely unprecedented in the AFL) to miss a week or 2. Poor bloke

I love how Weitering is assertive, aggressive and doesn't mind physically hurting opposition players. These were traits that he lacked early days and has developed. He's the perfect modern day Fullback.

Ollie Hollands was quite. The thing I want to see him work on is being an outlet in defence. Particularly for the switch of play. Getting back in defence to block the hole then working really hard to keep his with and getting level with the drop of the ball so when it's intercepted he is out wide for the kick ready to go quickly. Just reckon sometimes when the ball comes into defence and he's there minding space he gets drawn to the ball when he needs to keep his width to be an option to kick to immediately.

I think there are a few areas here where he needs to work on positioning so that he can find more of the ball. Often with Wingers it's about keeping width and distance from the ball or it's about committing to the contest when it's in your area.

We have a few blokes who do a lot of hard up and back running and don't find much footy. Cottrell is another one. I think some work on positioning could be handy here.

Marchbank ended up having an okay game. Started very shaky though.

One big flaw in his game is he goes to ground way too often. Almost every contest he goes to ground. Tries to tackle. He either makes it or goes to ground. Really needs to find a way to keep his feet. It's such a basic thing. You are totally gone out of the next contest as soon as you hit the deck.
