Overall it was a good season tainted by an opportunity missed.
We let an opportunity slip in the finals obviously.
However.
We finished in the top 4.
We played well in finals (I know getting run down doesnt feel that way, but we were the better side in both games)
We unearthed some excellent young talent, much of which better than anticipated (Peatling, McMullen, Jones and Thomas all gave us far more than anticipated)
We further locked in a clearly identifiable style.
Jesse Hogan arrived.

I'm trying to keep this stuff front of my mind, despite the obvious disappointment I'm feeling.

At the start of the year I set a top 4 finish as our "pass mark" and we achieved that. We should take a certain amount of satisfaction from that, especially given our mid-season slump and the fact that missing finals altogether was a very real possibility right up until the second last round.

Overall it was a great year and the club will continue to build year after year. Better times are ahead.
