yep just saw that

looks like the lead at the time was jy, stephens, colby, macpherson, tucker, scott, fos, lmac, powell, griff, urquhart, finnbar
top 3 held positions
(unsure where dmac finished but they obviously aren't going to include him in the results), seems griff and PC came home strong which is good to see

one more time trial left for the preseason post xmas break

We'll have a strong group rotating around mid/fwd/wing.

Sheezel, Parker, Wardlaw, LDU, McKercher, Simpkin, FOS, Powell

At any time we'll have 3 of them in the middle, 2 forward, one on the wing and a couple on interchange.
Unless Powell or FOS are flagged to play half back.

It would be nice if Curtis is coming in with the tank to be part of that regular rotation.

From the clip Griff has a difference in ground contact and his gait moves in right to left.

His left foot is a heal strike with little pronation but his right is more mid foot with pronation. He looks unbalanced.

Never noticed it before but it really stands out in that video.

What's it mean? If that's how he has run all his life probably not too much but it could indicate an issue and be a precursor to future injuries. Wondering if it's a result of the ACL reconstruction.

Curios whether the club fitness staff monitor stuff like this...
I suspect you have more background on this than I do, but that could just be running on sloping ground along the boundary. It may also just be momentary. I read, a while back, an article that mentioned that Olympic 10km runners had different strike patterns and that some changed within longer races (not intentionally), depending on how fatigued they were. It seemed the physio community were obsessed with foot strike for a while but seem to be moving on from it (just from my experience as a patient).

Good points and hard to critique him conclusively off a few seconds.

I did try to compare him to the others to try to rule out a camera angle, sloping ground bias.

Fatigue could definitely be a factor but that in of itself is a red flag. Many injuries occur when fatigued including ACLs where the supporting muscles give way and all the force transfers to the ligament. Can play a part in those innocuous ACLs where it doesn't look like they really wrenched the knee. Holding form when fatigued is important at the end of games.

Different strike patterns can be ok too if it's both feet. When it's one that can lead to issues.

But, yeah, you really need to create a baseline over time and monitor for change. Hoping the club are doing this to some extent. Have seen in their injury updates comments about hitting strength metrics etc.

And by no means an expert, just something I'm interested in.

How did you go with The Crazy Cat Leigh Colbert? That dude wore different boots on each foot - and I don't just mean he knew his left from right.

Curtis may go in for the odd centre bounce, but I don't think we need him in the mid rotations. But an improved tank will mean he can play more as a modern small forward and get up the ground and help in transition more than he has been. We desperately need this type.

First time that I look at the majority of these blokes and think that they are genuinely built like AFL players. Blokes who have been much maligned for their fitness have seen strong time trial results.

Let’s see if it clicks on field.
Proof will be in the pudding come season time. I think West Coast is the only team in recent years that I've seen us match up against and not had the thought that we looked woefully physically outmatched standing next to them

Imagine if Zurhaar learnt/developed the tank to do this a bit too. Turning 27 next year so maybe I'm flogging a dead horse, but his strength and explosiveness would be handy in swinging contests our way between the centre and half-forward. Haven't given up on the idea that he's dropped his bundle as the darkness has continued and is capable of much better
