IMHO your flex player will change almost every week. There is no emergency for the flex player so naming someone from the first game is the safest option. If you choose a player from a later game and he is a late out, the options for a trade could be very limited. If you rely on one of your emergencies they can only come from the same position.

Bazlenka has never averaged above 98.6. He's a known butcher, and he's coming back from an ACL. He's a must-have because of his price, and because his ownership is so high, I don't think you can afford to anti-pod him. I'm sure he'll average over 90, but he'll throw in some stinkers and won't be the top fwd. I can see him being a late-out for a rest a couple of times too (in typical Geelong fashion).

I think Rankine and JHF will explode this year and be 10 ppg ahead of the rest (unless of course we get some great DPP additions). They're the clear #1 and #2 fwd imo.
He doesn't have to be the top forward, just has to score enough to be in that keeper range for F3-F6 and I reckon 90+ would do it.

Same criteria for Macrae, Daniel and Phillipou

100% agree.

My forward line is complete ;)

Yeah can’t see myself passing on him at this point. Thing with him was to score well he was playing nearly 97% game time, not sure he gets that coming back from injury.
But offsetting that is he was so outside @ Dogs and may play more inside @ Cats his ppm may go up and balance it out.

He's an outside accumulator who'll need high TOG and 25-30 touches a game to get in the 90s. Do Geelong and KP allow for that? Time will tell.

Pou has elite junior scoring pedigree, showed great scoring in the role last year against super tough opposition and is now a year older. Athletic, tall, hard working and great footballer. All the signs are there for me.

I’m happy to make some bold calls every now and then. Laugh at me at the end of the year if he is way off.

Picking Pou is not a “bold call”

Currently owned by 42% of coaches

😂

How many of that 42% think he will be the top scoring mid though? That was the bold prediction. I’m guessing far call.

Can't wait for us to roughie the f@rk out of each other mate. 😍
Ohh Im down.

Ive left all my cash leagues and will try to end my season by round 12.
Few Roughies will help do the trick :moustache::drunk:

Only F6?!

What happened to your bold call that the Pou will be a top scoring MID?

If he’s good enough to be a top 10 mid, he’s definitely going to be your F1

Don’t go backing down from that bold call of yours now…

Haha 😂
Wasn’t my bold prediction.

Me, I’m on the fence, but will definitely start him. Macrae is my tip to be the number 1 forward (a little bias as he’s long been my fav non Cat).

Version 11

TDK out then in then out then in then out. Vossy and injury history. Play it safe, save a trade.
SDK in then out. They'll move him back to defence to often, i can feel it. It will piss his owners off to no end.
Pou out. So many options and he's the weakest link in the play it safe stakes.
Washcroft in then out then in. Yeah ok i am starting to see it.... finally. :moustache:
Schoenmaker makes a return. Makes D5-D8 stronger overall. They want the ball in his hands.
Short gets the ass over my more favoured candidate Roberts. Looking at the swans back six in the sim, i can see him getting a ton of it.
Maric out as i can't fit him and still waiting on more info
Hugo in as he keeps killing it and he's playing in the mids in match sims. People should check out his numbers in the VFL for a first year player and then his PPM in the seniors.
Allan in - Following the reports.
Knevitt returns - pre season reports are strong
Hastie in - Training the house down. Strong competition for the outside role. Will play at some stage.

Think that covers it.

Magnet swapping is addictive!

I knew I shouldn’t have set up my team too early - now I’m less likely to be open minded

I can continue to tinker, but it will only be tinkering

I like your thinking.

It is a bit like using a captain loophole with the VC in an early game.

One thing I am not too clear on yet is do emergencies come onfield first then the calculation for flex then takes effect.
Or is it onfield players then flex is added if a zero score happens then emergencies come onfield in that order.

Back to using flex.
Rotation is a must. My plan early will be to use one of the sub $200k DPP options who are 2nd or 3rd year players. Picking the highest 3 round average from the bench list.

It will also be a handy spot to think about upgrading from rookie to midpricer to Premo (probably Ruck or even better a R/F) for the midseason byes.
Basically chasing low breakevens and grabbing that cash.

After the byes if I have any trades or cash growth left either stay on a Ruck Flex incase of Ruck injuries.
Or Sideways to another Premo Mid for full points gain, whichever is averaging higher.

My understanding is that Flex will replace your lowest on field score, doesn't need to be a zero for flex to kick in.
