I agree that all those players are unproven although Bo Allan looks likely and Luke Trainor did well against us in the preseason game. I also accept we may not have taken that pick to the draft.

But does that philosophy imply that we have gone in for the now? The only reason I ask is because it seems like we have gone all in and only somewhat kept an eye on the future but, the gap between our oldest and youngest is only going to continue to grow in reference to the wait factor. This isn't necessarily about this year but the last couple of years with players such as Jack Bytel, Josh Eyre and to some extent Lachie Sullivan and Ned Long.

You can obviously say we need to moneyball or be smart in the next couple of years but isn't every club trying to do that?

Unless we get an LDU or a Ed Richards or bargain off the rails JUH we might have our hands tied if one if one of our key players goes down.
