Freo will give 9 & 10, We will give Bolton and something else back, 2nd or 3rd rounder.

How I see the Bolton trade going down.

Freo give pick 9+10 and Richmond pay half of the salary of the 3 remaining 4 years of the contract while we are rebuilding so it helps us fill the 90% min cap than Freo add +2 more years on the deal of their own negotiation.

It essentially becomes 6 year deal for 25 going on 26 year old in december, at the end of the deal he is 31/32.

It's gonna end up being Picks 14 and 15 after Kako, Lombard, Ashcroft and the compo for Battle and so on

So basically it's sounds like both parties agree it will be 2 picks.
Richmond fans hoping out of those picks it's 10 & 11
Freo fans hoping it's 10 & 18.
Either Club is not letting us know which way it will go except it won't be all 3 picks.

Yes Mr Magic, we already know you think it won't be either so keep on scrolling past.

you still cannot grasp he is under contract and it has been stated extraordinary deal and Bolton said he is happy to stay and acknowledges that may happen.

the way you are carrying on it is as if you are forcing Bolton out of the club as opposed to others, quite remarkable albeit shocking

I also noticed you have a Perth location so there is conflict of interest issues potentially as well

On the contrary, you need to accept that he is definitely leaving!! I’d love him to stay but he’s going for family reasons, Freo are desperate to secure him and they have the draft capital to satisfy our demands imo. He 100% will not be at Richmond next season, you can bank on that

Is that you Ox?

What odds is Ox offering....

****ing hate compo picks. Why would we accept diluted picks for a gun player with 4 years to run on a contract?
We don't it's our choice.

Fremantle don't have enough currency to please me. Picks 13,14 and 21 are Meh

I'd rather work with West Coast to pry pick 3.

Richmond - West Coast
Bolton, Baker to Eagles
Pick 3, Pick 27 (org Pick 23) to Tigers

Richmond - Gold Coast
Rioli, Pick 27 (org Pick 23) to GC
Pick 6 and Pick 12 to Richmond

Richmond Head into draft with Pick 1, 3, 6, 12, 25 (org 21)

Freo can keep their picks 14,15 and 21

Eagles to keep their Barress Pick and pip Fremantle for Bo Allen.

Everyone wins

Yet saints get pick 8 for a FA who isn't half as good as Bolton who has 3 years left on his contract. Corrupt.

Thinking slightly differently about free agency compo picks, say Hawks overpay Battle in order to get him out of the Saints and trigger Band 1, it gives Saints a better result than what they would have gotten from Hawks if a trade happened. It's a mechanism to allow for a lower ranked side to get higher compensation if a players goes to a contending club who finished high. It also means Hawks allocate a chunk of thier cap to Battle so other player's now have to take unders will leave for more money elsewhere.

Yes the rest of the competition pays the price for this deal in terms of slipping back, however it does create more opportunities for equalisation as a side normally has to pay overs to get a player across meaning another club can come in whether this year or next and start poaching Hawks players. I get that it has its flaws but it also has its merits.

You have the Bailey Smith situation where I reckon Geelong will get him for unders and the Dogs probably lose out compared to if he were taken as a free agent. As a top 8 club they can cop it but if it was us or North right now it would probably be a worse result.
