Well yeah, hammer and kind need to spend all preseason together! Learning where to be and when. Can't have them crashing into each other like they did today.

Haven't mentioned it all season but I'm concerned about Pou, gets scared way too often.

Don't think the week off did us any favours, looked flat and without momentum. That being said some players were lost out there and we were exposed in numerous areas. Plenty to work on during the off-season and a few tough calls to be made. Nothing went our way today really, and felt it was uncharacteristic in terms of performances this year, shame it's happened in a final. Was expecting much more heat and energy!!

F-ing sigh.........

It is what it is. Something to build off.

Some things to like and some things to hate that match.

A 4 goal loss when we allowed them to catch our defense out of position from some pretty poor turnovers and/or lack of composure taking routine marks.

Get a preseason into the 18-21 crew and pray that making the finals lures some clean midfield taken.

Marshall needs a better midfield around him, racked up 28 possessions which is great but he shouldn't have to do that much grunt work to surge the ball forward.

Extremely disappointing.
Our home game gets played at the MCG
Bedford gets off
Big love story about Greene
It was inevitable
Lyon needs to get us taking the game on more not just when we are 5 goals down
Use players better - Sinclair Owens
Find us a good tall defender and get the smalls practicing how to crumb

Work in progress, I'm still more bullish on our mids needing a little tinkering to as similar pacing and we'll lose a Ross type that scurries and chases or a Gresh or Jones that explodes through, but it's forward where I am in dire need of us doing different.

This match we needed Hammer, Sharman, Owens and Ming to work together, and they didn't, at all. That makes it hard for Butler and Higgins, so Hammer gets subbed, Owens gets out of the F50 and roams and it looks better, but then only Higgins spikes as Butler tries and can't kick 40. Makes it very hard to win games of footy when you restrict yourself so so much in F50.

But to get here, to make it, to still be in semi touch, that is hopefully something to work on, something to grow from and to learn from and then to show that yes, you can and yes, you will.

This current grouping as a club, can do it.

Still only 18 .... played every game which is amazing in his 1st year ..... get him into the gym ..... he will better off for this

We were nervous and sloppy at times but happy with effort. GWS midfield class, bigger bodies and rebound out of the defence was the difference. Losing Membrey hurt as there was no cohesion with the talls spoiling each other forward. Because GWS were making the play our tackling wasnt rewarded and umpiring looked ordinary.

Not terrible or unexpected a good year all in all.

At least it was the Giants we lost to, don’t mind them tbh hope they go far. Nice fan base too for how few of them there are.

Really disappointing game but I hope it provides the motivation for next year. Not a disgrace but we provided our supporters with little hope after the first 10-15 minutes. That is the sad thing.

Yep, we need a few more players but the growth and development of our players has been superb, as well as the game plan. We'll be much better next year.

No skills.
Cannot execute and they destroyed us for it

That’s the main thing, too many players can’t hit targets… Whereas GWS looks so slick moving the ball Richmond style a couple of years back. Really need to move on from anyone

1. who can’t beat their man and win contested ball
2. Make good decisions, has composure with ball in hand.
3. Hit a target with foot or hand.
This will mean half of the side is in trouble

A. Meet criteria (5): Sinclair, Wilkie, WM, Sharman, Stocker
B. Don’t meet criteria: Gresham, Howard, Higgins
C. Question mark: everyone else

Notice no one from our midfield meets the criteria. Think we over achieved this year based on this alone.

Better system won out.

Sliced and diced on the outside.

Way, way better footskills and composure. We either went sideways, or went long to 50/50s.

Forget lists, this was a systematic dismantling. A lot of work for coaches to do.

We looked like a team playing footy years out of date compared to the Giants. Like a different sport.
