Yeah what makes it sad is that Travis Head said well bowled to him as soon as he was out (Head is all class on and off the field - love the bloke) but maybe Siraj didn’t understand because of language barrier and thought he was being sledged? That’s the only thing I can think of - otherwise Siraj’s actions are inexcusable
Possible he thought Head was taking the piss out of him considering he had not really been bowling well overall.

As a member of the dropped catches club that person will never be allowed to forget it

I dropped Jayawardene in a Sri Lanka v Aus A game in the AO members. It was travelling and it took some skin off my hand. I got a hard time at the ground and friends gave it to me for years.

Then I redeemed myself when I caught a Kieron Pollard six in a BBL game years later. It just looped in and I stood up and caught it. Crowd cheered and I made it on Sports Tonight.

So you can redeem yourself

Just saw the Siraj sendoff.

I absolutely love Siraj and the attitude he brings, equal parts fast bowler anger and petulance, but backs it up with some thrilling bowling.

...but sending off a guy whose just hit everyone out of the park like that is terrible form.
Rana, who hasn't really got the career behind him to mouth off, was also very lippy at times

He's a lock in our ODI + T20 team of the century so far, and would have to be in serious consideration for our Test team of the century so far.
He might have a better record, but for me I'd pick Lee ahead of him any day. Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe I just don't like the guy. I just think Lee had something intangible about him that Starc has never had. Starc drops his head too easy and when he's off his game it's been disastrous for us. Maybe Lee was just better supported with an attack including McGrath and Warne but I feel like he showed his class at the end of his career when he was the leader. Lee/Starc/Cummins all have equal merit to a spot on the team of the 2000s imo. McGrath is the only lock.

Not sure why Trav is having a sook about the send off in the post day 2 interviews tbh we have a history littered with send offs, huffing and puffing & swearing so just suck it up.

Did he have a sook or did he answer "journo" questions?

I have a bad feeling Pant is going to do something special / 20:20 inspired this afternoon. Hopefully we are chasing less than 100..anything more will be a massive challenge under lights

I'm actually rather surprised that no-one from the Indian Management has come out complaining about the racist, obnoxious Australian crowds booing their innocent little cherub, who is rapidly developing form for what is best described as sooky petulance.

We'll have the best part of three days to chase whatever we're set, I wouldn't worry too much.

Yep. Lee for me.

Of course, but their capacity to get that far ahead is what is in question. Would depend almost entirely on Pant producing something even better than Head’s innings
Pant will if he doesn't run out of partners but the issue is they are 5 down not 3 down. India are probably regretting not having jadeja at 7 about now.

What about Ryan Harris? Gillespie was bloody good also

Don't take much to call white people racist, that's the norm these days.

India's only hope is the tail wags, Cummins' is asleep at the wheel with field settings and garbage tactics against the tail (not unusual for him) & they can stretch it to the night session with some sort of a lead.

You'd think if Pant goes early so do India.

Fair enough, it's all subjective but we'll have to agree to disagree there. Starc has more wickets at a better average and a better strike rate and is a better batter. For mine it's hard to look at their stats and say Lee was a better bowler. Lee also played in gun teams with an all-time pace bowler in McGrath and perhaps the GOAT spinner in Warne.

Starc has been part of a gun attack for several years, but the first few years of his career he played with a number of bowlers that were barely Test standard.

Dunno about the last sentence. Hastings is probably the only one that really springs to mind, and played as many Tests as his talents dictated.
Hilf, Sids, Johnson, Lyon, Harris, Pattinson. Hilf and Patto if you were being overly harsh, but both very fine bowlers, and certainly better than barely Test standard.

Watson was a batting all rounder.
