Any early word on the wicket in Brisbane? Any chance of either side scoring any more than 200 in any innings?
That is if the weather allowed the groundskeeper to properly work on it.

As brilliant as the innings that Head played was, i think Starc should have been MOTM.
India won the toss and batted, and the last time they batted they declared just short of 500 runs.

All the pressure was on our bowlers, and Starc came up and gave the Aussies a huge advantage with his bowling that first day.
Head hammered home that advantage, but Starc gave it to us in the first place.

Agree, Starc was clearly the man of the match.

So Ryan Harris plays 27 tests and that is not enough for serious consideration, but Clark plays 24 test and that is enough to have him level with Gillespie? Strange criteria you have.
Sorry, I phrased that wrong. I meant I would have Rhino level with Clark. Gillespie a rung above.

Agreed. One of my favourite non-Australian players in world cricket.

Just an absolute gun. Honestly one of the best bowlers I've had the pleasure of watching in their prime, and seems like a really humble guy.

Harris could never get his body right. Dizz would be battling to make the 2nd XI of the 20th century.

I'd have it as:

Mcgrath
Cummins
Starc
Warne

Lee
Hazlewood
Johnson
Lyon

Gillespie
Siddle
Harris
Mcgill
Peak Johnson edges Starc.

Credit where credit is due - incredibly comprehensive showing.

Level of intent chalk and cheese compared to Perth - question now is whether that's down to our natural advantage with the pink ball or something that can be sustained over the rest of the series.
Rana hasn't shown much, surely he'd be the one to make way?
I get the strong sense they don't seem to rate Reddy's ability to be the 3rd seamer. Not sure why.

Well, that was a bit better if you’re an Australian fan.

McSweeney - well done, might not look amazing in the book, but was arguably the most important piece of the match.

Labs - not back to his best, but as with McSweeney, hugely important innings even if it lacked some fluency.

Boland - this is why he’s in the squad, he hits the spot from ball one and does his god damn job. To have that available as a back up is priceless.

Head - did Head things, don’t move him, let him just do his stuff.

Cummins - shaded by Starc, but produced two of the best balls of the match in my opinion. Bounced back well.

Starc - severely underrated, yes it’s not always perfect, but damn if he isn’t absolutely unplayable at times. Should of been MOTM for mine.

On to Brisbane, must win for both teams really, as Boxing Day will almost certainly be a result, and relying on weather in Sydney is a risky strategy.

A day of highlights.

Saw Mighty Trav crack a ton - ✔️
Got into the pink Smirnoffs - ✔️
Somehow managed to get lost walking to the Queens Head (a monumental stuff up) - ✔️
Dropped near on 300 bucks - ✔️
Finished it all off with a bit of Sammy Hagar Van Halen - 👍❤️👍

……& I’m doing it all again today.
Band practice meant I missed the whole day's play.

But hearing I also missed some VH assassin work, and with my own extra-sensory additions, makes me want to crank something up, right now.

To the silent replay of their devastation.

Maybe some Rammstein, ramming it down their throats.

I mean Reddy is more than handy with the bat which can't be said for Rana.

We'll have the best part of three days to chase whatever we're set, I wouldn't worry too much.
Very glad to have been wrong here! Loved the fact there was no tail wag for a change, true grit innings from many of our batsmen, and a bit of drama thrown in. Overall a fantastic advertisement for the game..

Best deck in Australia. For either side. You do well in either discipline you do well in Brisbane.

What we have here is 2 out of form batting sides developing into their game, and 1 side with a stratospheric bowler with no back up, and the other side with a very experienced bowling lineup.

If I was a bookie, I’d have Australia as a solid favourite in Brisbane

Ha ha, too many sips from the flask or just geographic embarrassment

The second one lol- finished the flask though but just wanted a walk after and walked the wrong way eventually just retraced steps to the city then went back embarrassingly it was just on the next corner from where I was lol
