Safest way would be run up and apolgise to the batsmen and offer a handshake and/or hug and light a candle for the fallen stumps as a gesture of sportsmanship and unity
Outside of the money, what a crap era to play any sport in.

Absolutely agree! 370 runs, 14 wickets, Trav century, Starc and Cummins bowling jaffas, Siraj drama and the crowd just going nuts the entire time. Weather was perfect too. That was one of the best day's play I've ever been to. The old girl was absolutely rocking by the end of it.
I think it’s the more in your face ones they’re concerned about. So if you knock someones middle stump out of the ground you can't run past the batsman and say on your bike champ anymore?
Not sure if you're having a laugh or not, but the answer is absolutely not. From the ICC Code of Conduct:So if you knock someones middle stump out of the ground you can't run past the batsman and say on your bike champ anymore?
For sure Phat, and is obviously struggling for fluency in his innings currently. However what he did in Perth was not sustainable. In Adelaide it appears he may have got the Mikey of his back, and hopefully for him that is the case.As bad as his first innings in Perth was - and it was - all Marbus was trying to do was similar to what he ended up doing in Adelaide. He took 18 balls to score in Adelaide, clearly a batsman struggling for form trying to see off the toughest time to bat, and hope that eventually runs would come.
50 balls is a long time of course but it’s the same logic.
Mitch Johnson's spell to the soap dodgers in Adelaide in 2013 i think it was was one of the best things Ive witnessed in cricket. Death stares with his mo after each one. Real theatre. These days he'd be suspended for bullying and improper moustache useI think it’s the more in your face ones they’re concerned about.
Thank me for that fellow Bigfooty cricket lovers. I said to my wife that if Marnus makes it through to stumps, I won’t watch the Test series again until Boxing Day.McSweeney and Marnus on the first evening deserve a lot of credit for building the foundation which allowed Head to do what he did.
greatwhiteshark Ah never mind, I shoulda read back earlier, can see now you've already posted this. Not sure if you're having a laugh or not, but the answer is absolutely not. From the ICC Code of Conduct:

Can't recall when this came in, but it's been a while, and I'd hazard a guess that most local comps have a similar rule.
It's been decades. Thank God there's only a few left who have archaic views about sportsmanship. Not sure if you're having a laugh or not, but the answer is absolutely not. From the ICC Code of Conduct:

Talk about taking the fun out of the sport, so glad I played in the 80's and 90's.
Code of conduct rules from the ICC
2.5 Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.
Note: Article 2.5 includes any language, action or gesture used by a Player and directed towards a batter upon his/her dismissal which has the potential to provoke an aggressive reaction from the dismissed batter, whether or not any reaction results, or which could be considered to disparage or demean the dismissed batter, regardless of whether the batter him/herself feels disparaged or demeaned (in other words, a ‘send-off’). Without limitation, Article 2.5 includes: (a) excessive celebration directed at and in close proximity to the dismissed batter; (b) verbally abusing the dismissed batter; and (c) pointing or gesturing towards the pavilion. Nothing in this Article 2.5 is, however, intended to stop Players celebrating, in an appropriate fashion, the dismissal of the opposing team’s batter.

imo, it's a good rule, I played all through that era, and send-offs were never ok.
I could look it up but what is Marsh averaging since call up?
There isn’t many in the Aussie team with a good average in the past 2 years, not even Head. Having Marsh with the best average tells us everything we need to know about how bad we’ve been.
Surely Head’s average is better than Marsh since the recall now?
On another note surely Hazelwood won’t be right to play yet? No one needs a rest either. Rests are completely overrated. If you need one give them one. Don’t just rest players for the sake of ‘rotation’
So ridiculous, I'm all for giving the batter a bit of a wind up or wink, however when he has just carted your team around the park for 140 in 140 you should have half a brain to just celebrate high fiving the team and not do anything else.
Looks pretty odd.
My friend who is a SACA member said that if a match is over in 2 days and a session like this year and last year in Adelaide that both teams should play a T20 or one dayer the 4th day.Means the ground loses twice
Siraj is an odd unit, gun bowler thoughYes was very odd this one.
Given Lyon only bowled an over and copped a hit I wouldn't bother with him tbh and I am a big fan of him.You pick your best 3 quicks and a spinner. Bad luck for Boland but that's how it goes. One of the last places you leave a spinner out is in Brisbane.
It was even worse when he took 'offence' at Marnus saying something like 'everyone called us the worst Test team ever a week ago, now they love us again'. Clearly not a literal comment, but ol' mate Gerard certainly thought it was and went on a massive rant about how the criticism was justified etc and they never called them the worst Test team ever. Like, WTF Gerard, not everybody is as literal and serious as you, calm down.Whateley on SEN carrying on like he's a cricket expert is pretty cringe too tbh he's a dweeb that never left the school library computer room in his youth when kids his age were outdoors playing sport.
I remember back to the 'ugly aussie' debate or whatever the hell it was & Michael Clarke had a crack at him (basically saying who is he) and he went on some bizarre holier than thou rant with Clarke in the cross hairs. There's video of it somewhere he's like a vindictive little Mr. Bean when he feels targeted. It was even worse when he took 'offence' at Marnus saying something like 'everyone called us the worst Test team ever a week ago, now they love us again'. Would love to find this footage if anyone has it! lolso Boland stays in?
he is the best quick on an Australian deck!
It was embarrassing to listen too. I lasted 10 mins and switched off , returned 10 mins later and they are still going on about it .Listenend to him and Lalor after the match ended yesterday going on for half an hour about the non incident with Siraj and Head. They were trying to turn into Monkeygate.
I have never seen a less incident been blown up this much in all my life.
Boland was huge. May have only taken 5 wickets but that included 4 big ones: Jaiswal, Kohli, Sharma and Gil. I wouldn't be surprised if Hazlewood misses Brisbane again through injury (so it's a moot point) but it's our bowlers who set up our win – so further bolstering our attack with 4 quicks might not be a bad ideaOf course you can. He got five wickets for the match, Cummins got seven, Starc eight. Hazelwood is a better international bowler. Boland's great but if you're the fourth of fifth best quick at a period in time, you're a hard luck story.
Boland could have had a couple more too. I think the selectors will kick the decision down the road around the attack and name unchanged for Brisbane claiming Hazelwood's still injured.Boland was huge.
