We bash him from pillar to post but the man knows how to get a brownlow vote.
The reality is that as much as people don’t want to accept that he can play , all evidence seems to suggest that he is a good player.

I was one of the people who was happy to accept a top 10 pick for him, I always maintained he was a good player, in fact I'd say 90% of the people who would've moved him on recognize he's a good player, great on his day.

It was never about Darcy, It was always about the midfield mix and balance for me, and frankly it still is, we need to fix it, hopefully some development, potentially a handy acquisition can help us out.

If Shiel leaves like some quarters are suggesting that'll help in that regard anyway. We'll have even fewer avenues out of the coalface, but at least one less fighting to get their hands on it.

Yeah I think it’s a small minority that wanted to trade Parish because they believe he’s a bad player.

I think most rate him.

I think for the most part those that considered trading Parish knew he was a very very good player, but was more about list profile fits in a catagory of simularish players. He would have been the best and most likely to warrant a high pick. The thers couldn't command that pick that may have been of value so. The right side and Parish can be very dangerous - I don't know Essendons urrent short comings allow that to happen yet

Look, even when you break it down like that it doesn’t make it sound any less silly to me (no offence). I just can’t get my head around the notion of trading a known quantity (and quality player) for a pick…

Yeh, probably.

It it was a move with a lot of risk attached if you went that way. But its also been Essendon the lat 15 odd years too minimal risk safe option afraid of getting it wrong - maybe a different way of putting it was did the list management team look at things we're 4-6 years away from really competing with the top 4 pushing a premiership. Do you maybe look at a longer term view if the side is too unbalanced - though this is the same list management team that got you there so.....well./

With the right setup, Parish will be able tom dominate and work around any real short comimings up to others to make tht work and hopefully we can - I think the right call was to keep him.

Another one who got interviewed by the meedya at the Crichton tonight.

Interesting comments around Goldy coming to the club. Goldstein is a left hander and Parish doesn't think he's ever played at the feet of a lefty before.

Wrong tweet ;)

It's on one hand.. insane. And on the other hand totally typical.

Reminds me of when I bought a Les Paul Special for $2000 instead of the Telecaster I was planning to buy for $1200 and when my wife asked "was it the same price as the tele?" I sort of mumbled a bit and walked out of the room. I knew she would work it out eventually but wanted to avoid confrontation just at that moment.

To be honest it worked ok in terms of a less heated response. Only problem now is that she doesn't trust me at all LOL.

Excuse the intrusion, feel free to boot me but I feel for you lads over this - obviously it's a really small thing and really in the grand scheme of things, is it really a big deal? No. 5 years vs 6 years, ultimately who cares. But to withhold information in an attempt to mislead the supporter base into thinking that the club got it's way, it's just petty.

We certainly appreciate the kind words, any club with Ameet Bains and Luke Beveridge in their employ would definitely be able to spot petty from a mile away.
