It's not about the years, it's about treating the members with contempt.

It's not right and it hasn't been for so long now I don't know if anyone or anything can change it.
Could not care less.

Could not care less.

It's good you don't, yet there is plenty who do, as this is just the latest thing in a line of actions the club takes that seems to indicate a want to keep members in the dark. Mostly based around PR and wanting to be seen a certain way.

It's not some earth shattering thing in isolation,
but it's a major contract for a key player.
Stop with the games, Announce the details properly, it's really quite simple.

I don't care about the years, I do care about the club's attitude towards transparency with its members.

Now I’m worried about the club announcement re Dodo’s departure, is it really going to happen?

I don’t see this as a big deal at all, all just PR games and optics, as long as Parish and the club were happy that’s what matters.

He’s stepping down from the role he previously had as part of a restructure of the footy department and to make way for Matt Rosa. He’s not leaving the club and will probably still have some connection to the recruiting team (whether officially or unofficially remains to be seen)

As a long time supporter I don't get the angst. Yeah, they didn't disclose the full contract but was it deliberate? There are soo many things members are not privy to, storm in a teacup for mine. Faux outrage seems to be the modern way.

For me all this contract rubbish is media driven anyway.

Most workplaces have confidentiality around individual contracts and to me sporting clubs should be no different.

I'm with ant555, I couldn't care less.

As a fan it might not be your business but as a member you have rights under corporate law and a financial interest limited only by the club constitution, otherwise if the club folded you would be on the hook to pay their debts.

It’s more than a simple customer. You are effectively a part-owner/investor for the year, and you have a right to know what you are investing in.

Fair call.

Lets hope he wins a Brownlow in the 6th year!

Pretty sure Geelong were in his ear.

Not one solid report of this.

There was speculation that Geelong would be after him because Parish was a Falcon. Some here were willing it to happen.

He's the gun midfielder who was out of contract in August of the year he came out of contract as a FA and even when leverage was required there was nothing, no club to be used to force our hand into offering a 6 year deal.

There are stats, coaches votes, Brownlow votes and what Cal Toomey says...and then there is how the clubs acted when they could sign the gun for free.

Could not care less.
it's not a massive issue, admittedly; but personally I do care that the craven fools running this club are able to be led by the nose by the media and scared of potential negative commentary around "losing" a negotiation. Doesn't fill me with enormous confidence that they have the courage of their convictions and the ability to provide clear-eyed leadership, but hey, you do you I guess
