He's not even physically ready for footy yet. Not properly. If he gets a good run the by the bye next year he'll be properly match hardened. Which is quicker than most.

That's why the captaincy shouldn't even be a thought until 2026 (at least). Let him develop as a player first. He might be mentally ready (tho I dunno about that either,) but he's not physically ready yet.
My concern is if we went and made him captain, opposition teams would target him physically even more than they already do, whilst he builds physically.

In the near future (hopefully), he will be a top captain.

Not worth the risk to rush him, as much as I would be so happy to see him captain.

He is captain in all but title already. Dont be thinking oppos are not allready throwing everything they have at sheez because he is the only real weapon we have at present.

He is just good enough to make most of them look silly when they try.

Carey was 21 at the start of the season.

Harry will be 20.

There is around 18 months difference.
Yeah. 18 months of conditioning to play AFL. 18 months being around adults, learning more about himself and his teammates, his own weaknesses, how he responds to pressure and adversity and all the rest and the same with them.

IMO in terms of maturity, self knowledge, physical and non physical development and understanding of the world ... the difference between just turned 20 and about to turn 22 is more significant than the difference between just turned 22 and about to turn 24.

He's already carrying enough on his shoulders with the weight of expectation he has created. he might well be capable of carry the captaincy too but it isn't right expecting him to now,

Exactly.

No one will touch him after one look from the big Ogre.

Or maybe leave Teakle in the team and tell him he’s got one job.

If you haven't lead people before, it will always feel like you're not ready. However, sometimes people can see things in you that you can't see in yourself. Would the AFL world shake their heads in disbelief if he's named as our captain next year? Nope. And Sheez says he wants it at some stage. So, in my opinion, it doesn't really matter whether he thinks he's ready now or not, both he and North need to bite the bullet and make it happen for 2025.

Now I don’t watch the under 18s but did people that do think Harry was going to be this good ?
I watched a lot of him, always felt he’d be the best of the 22 draft from a long way out but he’s gone far beyond what I expected. Or maybe quicker than I expected.

Yeah , I never heard the wraps on him like a JHF or a Reid . Just read he was a forward player that was really good

From memory he played a couple of games on ball and put up ridiculous numbers, but Sandy had a very strong midfield (Ashcroft and Mackenzie) and he was so.good forward that he played most of his footy there.

Who’s Mackenzie did he get drafted?

Corne and reid had lots of generational talent calls dropped on them. Reckon iam happy to get the 2nd pick that fell below generational talent.

Having said that the other 2 will be far from hacks.
Make no mistake Sheezel is definitely a generational talent, though I hate that ****ing term. All 3 are legit stars
