He did get stuck into McRae in the press after he exited Collingwood.

Has a bit of form.
Interesting.

‘Mouthie’ doesn’t have to mean confronting or bad-mouthing people - it can just mean whining the week before a final - I can guarantee Horse would not cop that- he’s from the same mold as Roos…..he’s the Boss.

Gotta say I really felt for Adams at the end of the game. Was trying to put on a smile but couldn't hide the fact that he was crushed.

Just a sad situation for him.
Yup, don't think he would've expected to find him in the situation he's in now. Looking unlikely he makes our team on Grand Final day unless there is an injury at training during the week.

Read in another thread that Campbell was limping a bit due to his groin. If true, then maybe Adams will get his chance.

It is what it is. Im super disappointed for him and if I see him I'd tell him that I've been super happy with him in the red and white.

Hes not perfect but no footballer is and itd be a hard blow.

But it is what it is for him so Im sorry for him and Im sure horse has tried to manage it

Campbell looked very sore in the fourth quarter

They should probably extend the premiership medal to those who played at least half of the season as they contributed to the success and result
Maybe. But even if they did, I doubt players in that situation will consider themselves premiership players if they didnt play in the big game. I do wonder if James Jordon sees himself as a premiership player seeing as he was the medi sub who didnt play. Anyway, I am off topic now.

Adams was BOG for us in the 2018 grand final. Came 2nd in the Norm voting. Which I'm sure many of you are aware of.

But did you know Longmire was one of the judges and the only judge to not award Adams a single vote when the other 3 either had him BOG or 2nd BOG? Seems Horse might have his blinkers on when it comes to Adams.

Why Longmire would not select a fit, proven big stage player, even if a little past his best, has me baffled. Particularly for guys with injury concerns. You at least know Adams will give his all.

It won't matter tonight - you will still win. But I think there's a good chance you might find out on GF day that Longmire has just dropped a Clydesdale-sized sh*t in your bed if he persists with this decision.

Horse has his blinkers on but the club got him here for 3 years?

Must play for us to win IMHO.
We'll get obliterated out of the middle without him.
Campbell back to sub or out if McInerney is playing.

Extremely disappointing if rumours are true about him blowing up. Not what this club is about
I dunno, shows he's got heart at least. Considering the circumstances of his arrival you'd have to be a robot to not react to being a lock in the team for 20 weeks and then being left out of finals.

Any reaction behind closed doors is fine, its if he didn't turn up to cheer the boys on last night or if he went to the media and started slagging off then I'd agree.

If McDonald fails to prove his fitness, I hope Adams comes into the Mid-field and play Parker forward again.
But Parker was already playing forward? So if McDonald doesn't play, how does Adams fit into the midfield?

Parker played 3/4 of the game against port forward but most his games this year he spent more time in the middle than forward and all the talk in media was Adams was no chance to play as he didn't fill role of any players with injury clouds but in case of McDonald I don't think we have a like for like player outside team and readjusting forward line with current players was better option than bringing in a forward currently not in 22.

But it sounds like McDonald going to be ok to play anyway.

Not even emergency. Bit of a surprise to me. Did he upset coaching staff/playing group or something?

Will he still be here next season?
Others have gone past him. Namely Cleary. The other two named were clearly back up for KPP's.

Unfortunately for him, unless injury strikes next season, I think he'll struggle to get a game and I'm ok with that. He's a good senior back up if something goes wrong and to set standards for other youngsters.

Cleary did look all right, so maybe that's the case.

Depends on whether he'd want to be playing ressie's next season if that's what he is told, I guess.

Surprising overall, he was a big off-season recruit, played all year and then just dropped on the eve of finals altogether.

Adams had his chance but a bit of a form drop off and freakish injury run has seen him slip down a bit.

Any normal year, Adams would be in the team. We are missing one player and were basically missing no one for the QF.

Lions have 5 players who have done their ACL. 4 that would probably be in the team tomorrow.

It's a mistake to assume anyone who didn't make the team for the GF will be stuck in the reserves next year.

Despite feeling bad for his predicament, I think the coaches have it right with Adams.

Ultimately, I think it was a battle between Adams and Parker and Parker won. Coaches don't see 2 slower inside mids in the side, one has better forward craft and hence its Parker ahead of Adams.

We probably needed at least 2 injuries before Adams was getting a look in as coaches see Cleary as the better HF option given his speed and ability to pressure (something we lack with 3 talls and Parker as part of our forward set up).
