Really don't think kicking is the problem. If it is, Colyer is the most unlucky player we have considering that no one seems to have been disciplined for poor kicking in recent memory.

What do you think is, then? I mean, kicking is clearly a weakness of his.

Whether or not it's his biggest weakness- it's probably in competition with a lack of physicality. Considering he is indeed a ball of muscle, he probably doesn't use that enough.

Unfortunately Watson's kicking issues were technical, his footy brain was always tip top. Colyer... not so much.
Watson's kicking was never as bad a kick as coyler, yes he had some pretty poor kicks but not ever single kick like coyler.

And this do you truly believe there is a player who constantly stuffs kicks up as much as coyler. Bookmark it he is gone at the end of the year If he can't get his kicking up

Remember there are a requisite three list changes each year, so unless all of Fletch, Hille and NLM (or perhaps Winderlich if injuries get too much) call it a day someone is going to get the chop, whether we like it or not. Given the cleanout over the last few years Colyer has to be on the edge, and from a quick squiz I don't see any clearly less deserving of a spot.

I can, many others probably would as well.
'Other teams: Team Nick O'Brien' haha.

I mean, Nick O'Brien did do a few nice things on debut, but he has only played two games and hasn't been mind blowing.

Even though Colyer hasn't been mind blowing either, he has shown to be very handy in terms of being able to go forward and maybe snag a goal, can play in the middle and be a headache for the opposition with his blistering pace, also he has proven to be the perfect impact player when playing as the sub.

Nothing against Nick O'Brien, Dell, Baguley or even NLM, but I think Colyer would probably deserve a game ahead of all 4.
Don't forget how good a pre-season he was having last year before breaking his thumb (I think that was the injury).

I don't know why he has been forgotten so quickly, I mean at one stage he was going to be our 'Brent Harvey'

there's also the small fact that he's only in direct competition with 1 of them

I don't think colyer has ever played back, he's not a forward pocket, and he's nothing like nlm who is the ultimate gap filler.

really the only one I think he's in competition with is NOB, and like i said, I love me some NOB

I was footy starved and watched the last qtr of 2011 cats game the other day. colyer had come on as super sub and did some pretty neat things; breaking lines, snapping goals and getting to plenty of contests.

wouldnt mind seeing him in that role again and then see how he goes from there

Another reminder of what Colyer can do when he's on is from the last quarter of the game against Port in 2011. We were 34 points down in the last quarter and on the verge of complete embarrassment, and then Colyer came alight, using his pace to great effect.

When he's on, and kicking properly, he is potentially a very dangerous player.
