If he could kick like that as his baseline he will get a new contract for sure. I wouldn't call it a great game, but he gave us something. Looked like his pace could have cut them open a bit more if his teammates used him more often too.

Was impressed by the strength of his hands. Took a couple of strong grabs. Never really thought he'd make it but his game was solid. Hopefully he can back it up.

16 disposals, 4 goals, 3 goal assists...cant ask for a much then that from a small forward.

Really bloody explosive pace, just the sort of thing we need.

Kicked a bloody ripper goal as well.

Only 3 assists? I counted 4-5

rines yaco55 you boys still hating on him? :D

Was sensational again today!! Is he the missing piece to our puzzle?

Some other glaring weakness' in our side, but Travis really seems to link the forwards and the midfield well. Loved that passage when he kicked to Hurley, dropped mark, ground ball contest, Colyer handball receive and then proceeded to run the periphery to snap a goal from close the paint. Loved it

Always been a fan loved his play today particularly when he hits the pack with pace. Really impressive speed and hopefully he maintains form because he could be huge for us if he keeps developing his game.

Let's not get excited after one game.

Was fantastic today, but we'll have to see how he plays next week (and he will play) before we can start to determine as to whether or not his disposal has turned a corner.

I thinks its okay to get excited after a encouraging game like this, obviously the real indication will be if he can play this sort of game against quality opposition.

WHE showed similar pace, except he's a twig. Fantastic game from Trav and those hands have been great the last two matches. Kicking is still iffy, but much improved.

played a great game! hard to bring some consistency when you only get 3 games a year.

big fan of this guy, hope he gets a decent run at it soon.

I have been his biggest critic and that game was incredibly good. He has never ever used the footy that well before.

I'd love to see him keep it up, I really hope he can because he gives us something extra.

Deserves to hold his spot over Jetta, Merrett, Kommer, Del for sure.

I'm not prepared to give the 'tick' to Colyer yet Yoda.. my fear is still that DE (especially under the heat of the best teams in the AFL) BUT he was clearly our best small forward today.

As to the position "could he be the missing piece"... well everyone with two eyes (or even one) would have to say yes on the basis of yesterday's performance.

Well played Trav and I hope we see more of the same against the Hawks next week.

*Oh and I never hated him - I just feel his disposal lets him down too much and against good teams turnovers kill you thus making him too much of a liability* I will state I still have this fear and will need to see serious improvement in this area against the tops sides before willing to eat the pie.

On the back of this game I hope he gets a 2 year contract just so we can see what he is capable of once he gets to 80 or games. I won't be surprised if he fades in and out of games frequently for the rest of the season but unfortunately that is the reality of developing AFL players. Hopefully the armchair coaches can remember the Melksham experience and go easy on him until he's had a really good crack at the seniors.

Without a doubt, kicking was Trav's greatest issue. What Trav's and Melk's performances show is that our development system at last seems capable of making marginal players with potential into good solid contributors. This is something that the Collingwoods and Hawthorns have been doing for many years, but something we seemed incapable of doing.
