I rate him, but it was definitely ability related imo, If you're thinking it's related to the 'sarah' call, I can as close to categorically dismiss that (as possible without inside info) as possible.

Just wasn't good enough, got close initially, but then got passed by a fair few and never nailed down a role

Surprised but not unhappy.There must have been a promise of game time for him to commit for a further two years.

I can't see where he is getting the game time though. There needs to be a pretty significant change in attitude of both club and player for that contract to be worth it. If he asked for my advice I'd have told him that the grass was probably greener at Melbourne (with Roos and near guarantee of game time).

First step has to be to get defensive work rate up to take a forward spot with stints in the midfield (no surprises there).
