Then he shouldnt be playing - if thats the case then the MC can GAGF!!! Seriously at what point and WHY did they move away from NEVER playing injured or underdone players to playing injured players? I remember up to 2020, if a player missed 2-3+ weeks they needed to get through an entire weeks training to be up for selection, yep thats right an entire week, not just 1 full session, we even made players like prestia, Caddy and Lynch have "mini" preseasons of 2-4 weeks of full session training to build some serious conditioning, that was why 1) our injured players always seemlessly slotted straight back into the side without missing a beat and 2) we showed our young guys that we had faith in them by playing them when a champion wasnt 100% and they responded accordingly. Now all we do is show them we have no faith in them ie picking injured/unfit role players ahead of them which is not only affecting their confidence (and dont try and tell me it isnt) but also affecting our team performances.
Dimma always showed additional faith the JG due to him playing the 2019 prelim second half with the dislocated shoulder.

In a way I don't mind it, shows the players they will be rewarded for sacrificing for the team, but on the other hand, it's been blatantly obvious a few times he has been miles away from being ready.

Essendon game, we got a dude accumulating 40 possessions. At what stage do we go geez, might pay to put someone on him? Particularly when we aren't going too flash?
fair call on the Zach Merrett match up, Jack doesn't have the heigh or speed to go with most modern midfielders these days however he probably could have shut Zac down or at least halved his damage as they are similar types

Not even close to similar types. One is a gun onballer. The other is a hack with hard hands and the pace and agility of Cliffy Young.

i meant in size and shape and running ability, jack has a good work ethic and that can nullify someone who hasn't got blistering speed or isn't overly strong overhead. lets just call it as we see it and not act like a pack of hyenas on a guy who has served the club well in our past

YEP spot on TM and I mentioned those points in the autopsy thread that MC has no faith in kids and are setting them low in confidence.

Oh well prestia had it 29 and there are plenty carping about that
Yeah I know. Something about him clearly playing injured. If he's injured and still gets it 29 times then keep playing him.

dunno TM , my beef is we haven’t had the aggots to play some kids despite woefully poor output from senior players ,,,,,the good news is we can play more golf , I won’t be cancelling too many more golf games I can tell ya , had been striping them too !

You are basically arguing the same point as we need to move on from the old blokes that have let us down and have faith or the balls in selecting the kids.

Not wrong - been too long mate. I took a hiatus for a few years (work commitments) but started having a hit again from Christmas - been good to get back out there.

Absolutely we need to , I’m hoping mid point point of year might be a watershed , we need to salvage something from the year continuing at this rate is a complete waste of time

I've always been a Graham critic has always been a player that doesn't live up to what people think he can deliver or should deliver.

I don't know what Richmond is thinking he might have interest from other clubs coming into the window eg Adelaide.
We seem to give up our premiership players too cheaply for my liking... we gave up Butler & Higgins for a packet of chips & we drafted Higgins with our first pick... we never seem to get the return on players that other clubs get.

The value would be even worse now than last year we should have pushed him to leave.
Once we got wind of him touring Port Adelaide's facilities with Hopper & Taranto coming in made no sense keeping him.

I feel like the club needs to be brave with some decisions like what Collingwood did.

Taranto Bolton hopper graham should be our starting midfield.

I just don’t understand why we aren’t exploring using him in that role.
Which one is the ruckman out of those four?

Butler had a better offer from the Saints. Butler and Higgins ~ post brain injury were playing Veeful at punt road. Pretty sure we won a flag or two after they left.
There is not one ex RFC player who I regretted seeing play at another club. Jeez, modern football. Player movement.

Do you remember GR?

Brave as in mismanage your salary cap?

Despite having five years to run on a lucrative contract that had money shuffled down the road, Treloar was forced out of Collingwood against his wishes due to a salary cap squeeze that saw the Magpies also shed Jaidyn Stephenson and Tom Phillips for minimal returns

Yeah, well RFC will have a new coach and new list ideas.

End of this year we have a few retire, a few delisted. Maybe one or two traded.
