ok a sore foot, well that explains Jack's mediocre form since he strung a few nice ones together after he got some fitness back after missing a big chunk of preseason....he runs himself ragged and you could tell he was labouring at times. dimma was being coy about it whether it's a stress related injury or ankle is the big question !!??!!

When his boot was off his foot was already quite heavily strapped so maybe stress related like plantar fasciitis

hope he's on top of his recovery with turf toe, but what happens is George stays in and plays a blinder (unlikely) or Stack get his spot this week and is awesome (possible) or Sonsie and MRJ keep getting better (very likely) and of course Dusty is starting to beef up his training. yikes its gunna be 26 wont go into 22 again if everyone is fit.

Graham is a great finals player. I hope he's back for the finals.

Let’s not forget, Hardwick’s praise 9on Graham sacrifice?
The club owes him for putting his club first when he did his shoulder ( if fit Will play).
The same discussion will be had about Ross who totally committed to the Grand Final 2019 and missed out on both seniors and reserves. He will play if we make it.
This is the loyalty the club shows.

This thread has become a bit of an elephant in the room in my opinion

nothing for over a week, but how fit is Jack and does he come straight back in knowing Dustin will be selected first, without any fear of contradiction.

slow start to the season due to injuries then played a couple of nice games in the middle, before tapering off again due to most likely a fairly severe toe injury

Whether it was a master Stroke by Hardwick holding back Sonzie, Cumberland, MRJ and Miller.....remains to be seen as they are now looking well educated and primed for finals and showing no sign of burnout.

its a no brainer on recent form, Cumberland >>> Aarts. MRJ >>> George. and Miller >>> Soldo.... but Sonzie and Ross are now flying, HRS looks like he's been re-ignited and stack thereabouts but both will have to wait till 2023 now.

Can't see Jack getting back in against the Lions and wouldn't be surprised if he is ruled out early next week.

We do owe him…if he can’t play this finals series or get into the team again then we’ll just have to make it to finals again next year and the year after until we get him that elusive third premiership medal that he deserves. :D

You forgot Graham's biggest hurdle Mr. Ross.

Ross one of our best last week, Sonsie was nowhere near it. He's had a good year but Sonsie doesn't deserve a easy ride into a final. His time will come.
Agree regarding Graham as sub.
Sonsie has been excellent. His spot is cemented unless we decide to go defensive in the middle. Sonsie's hurt factor is off the charts.

Sonsie barely hit a target in the first half last week. Was better in the second but there was zero pressure. He has been good but far from excellent, excellent for a kid coming into the big league and looking poised I'll give you. Ross had 14 score involvements from 21 disposals last week, that is a massive number, but most impressive was how easy it all looked for him. Everytime he touched it he set up a team mate.

Ross % of poor games and costly turnovers is a lot higher than Sonsie's. Sonsie stays and Ross goes

Dusty back for Ross.

Graham can replace Castagna as sub. Doesn't deserve to come straight back in.

What have we learned?
Rain, hail, shine.
Stars available or not.
Castagna always is a part of the 22 no matter what.
His form has been awful for two years, but he's there every week like the thick dust on the top of your book shelf.
They'll find a way to get rid of Ross and keep Fumbles McBumble.

Sonsie was given 4 coaches votes on the weekend ranking him 4th best on ground behind Prestia Lynch & Ross

History counts for nothing, form is what you want. Ross was so constructive with the ball last week, Sonsie wasn't, in fact made quite a few howlers early on. Sonsie does not look ready for finals footy, no surprise there he is 18 years old and plays pretty outside.
