I think the Sydney recruiter said on Gettable a few weeks ago the players that get picked in the 20s this year could have been picked in the teens in any other year.

So that could make pick 27 is 17. If you take out the FS and academy picks, the trade could be see as pick 3 for pick 17 and 19. So essentially a 6 or 7 pick slide back for MWhitlock.

Can we get over trying to justify the pick swap?

No one would have been happy with it prior to the draft. A rally would have formed to get Brady sacked. We could be massive losers, we won’t know for about 3 years.

If Matt finishes top 10-12 in this draft class, nothing else will matter.

who's to say he plays KPF.. to me seems like Comben mk.II who has the potential to switch up when needed.

This year we wanted Comben fwd - but it was like Robbing Peter to pay Paul. Now it wont be.

I don’t think we know who is going to play where long term with Comben and Dawson. we’re obviously adding another to that mix in Whitlock. It’s interesting that we obviously value the versatile tall above the more dominant forward / defender only.

Is this a smart list strategy in general or just important to our list given those two talls don’t have their end of the ground etched in stone?

If the club genuinely want Comben forward, then Matt is the obviously replacement long term.
