Like the look of him. Like that he’s got good skills, and is a good runner so he can really put time into the gym without having to worry about other deficiencies. Confident.

Looks like an outstanding pickup, good skills and the dedication to get the best out of them.

The lazy attitude to captaincy around here seems to be best player = next captain but a guy like Clarke who had to work hard on and off the field to get to where he is sets a fantastic example for others to follow and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up in the leadership group some years down the track if he makes it as an AFL player

This is impressive but didn't Nik Cox also win it in his first year?

Easier to run when you weigh 50kgs soaking wet.

It’s pretty common for draftees to win unless you’ve got an elite elite runner on the list like a Scully or Blicavs (though he’s too heavy these days).

Good sign that McGrath is up there, can’t recall if he has been in prior years?

Draftees winning it is pretty straightforward biophysics, but he had an impressive lead even over the other draftees.

Is the draft combine a 2km or 3km?

2km he got 1 second less than his combine time actually

McGrath is usually in the 5-10 range… or at least has been last couple of years

Rookie mistake coming first! Where does he go from here? Has to be up the front for rest of the preseason or be labelled as slacking off. Better to come mid table and show improvement as pre season progresses.
Or maybe that’s why I never made AFL!
