Maybe the fitness/strength coach, with Joel having his first preseason was still a slow burn.

First time Joel made > 70% ToG was Round 9 and then >=80% ToG against the Cats R13.

He is just now understanding his speed and power, with endurance, to effect games for longer.

Just 1 other game in his, just 40 games, career achievement of ToG of 80%.

If ever there was a definition of when things go your way, they really go your way....

Wow, 8 goals so far! That's an unbelievable return.

Seriously hoping he manages to reach the 10 figure mark.
Shame he couldn't get to 10.

Yes it really was a 'night out' - but he deserves a shedload of credit for a lot of hard work over a long time now. I suspect he won't kick 9 very often, but I reckon we will see 3,4 or 5 goals more and more often. Set shots for goal really improving too, and his judging of the ball in flight is really improving. Feels like he is beginning to believe he belongs at AFL level.

What a night out for him - well deserved.

Why did he come off the ground after kicking his 9th?
How did the coach get him to come off again a few minutes later with only a few minutes left?
Who does that to someone whose about to score the equivalent to a century in cricket?
Bewildering.

Deserved everything he got tonight (ok the free looked a bit soft) and did it when we needed it. When he gets that little bit of seperation and can jump at the footy he's a big threat. Made some very solid tackles as well.
I am not sure if they have had a program for him from the start of the season where they have slowly built up his fitness throughout the season or its the confidence that he has in his body now but he looks primed.

Because it was his rotation. You can ask Horse about the rest.
