The only thing even sweeter now is the fact a 5-0 whitewash on English soil is still alive.

Stokes never outright said he would have withdrawn an appeal. In any case, those are meaningless words given he can't be challenged on a hypothetical. So much hypocricy out of the UK.

From Reddit... Boland is coloured as England

Would depend on conditions, there's not an easy answer there. If I had to decide right now and considering we hold the Ashes I would pick Neser but it's either or and I wouldn't be fussed either way. Lengthen the batting, and bare in mind a draw is enough in the last 3 tests to retain them. That would be the way I'd go personally, but if they picked Boland I wouldn't be too disappointed. I personally would look at Johnson or Morris if we get to a 5th test and we are 4-0 up. Bare in mind the squad is only for the first 3 tests

Think Morris is being rehabbed for the summer. Pity, would love to see him have a go here.

It’s a bit easier to churn out the overs when you’re bowling mid to high 120s rather than high 130s to low 140s.

But it’s still a very significant difference in workload especially given the ages of Anderson and Broad.

Definitely will be factor over the course of the entire series as the fatigue mounts and potential for in game injury also increases.

Mwahahaha, I love the English getting fired up over this. I have absolutely no sympathy for these pathetic poms. The standard of umpiring and play in this series has been diabolical. Multiple times the TV umpire has ignored certain version, preferred strange interpretations against Australia or - in the Starc case - just created entirely antithetical analysis of convoluted laws all favouring England. On top of that, England were allowed to bowl almost 6 bouncers an over and were never called up. There is something fishy going on in the TV umpiring, broadcasting and umpiring of these games generally and we are pushing on through that adversity and winning.

Bairstow got out because he's stupid. All the honey between his fat ears has obviously clouded his judgment and made him forget 20 years of cricket experience. He left his crease for no reason, immediately without checking where the ball ended up and got punished for it. Sharpen up Jonny you bum.

Brendan, you ran out a bloke congratulating a teammate on a century.

STFU.

Live by the sword, you die by the sword. Bairstow tried it on the same frickin test!

Should be great viewing. Despite enjoying the failure of Bazball I have a lot of respect for what they say they are doing.
Good to see some more of Murphy if he comes in. They might wait on the pitch and pick Neser, who I'd like to see some of in England as well.
Labs and Green will want to tidy up their game a bit but can't see them making way for reserve batters.

Can't believe he averages 37 in Test cricket....

More like a 20-25 average type imo.

Crap keeper too. Always has been.

Is Murphy a monty for Leeds? Considering Eng aren't going to win this series by producing a raging turner, and their spinning stocks are pretty bare.....why not replace Hazlewood with Boland and Lyon with Neser?

Yeah 5 quicks isn't the norm, but if Eng truly want to get back into this series, surely it's green tops that will get it done. Aust can squeeze out a few overs out of Head, Smith and Labs for a change up....but if the weather is predicted to be wet in Leeds, how many overs is Murphy actually going to bowl? Neser is a better bat, Aust would bat right down to 10....and surely having Neser and Boland on a green top is better then young Murphy, who Eng will definitely target?
