Would they? They might be all out.

I cannot recall any past Australian side being so afraid of losing as what its fans are these days.
I'm not afraid of losing, my argument in the post you quoted is a declaration only would have made winning more difficult.

India have almost passed the follow-on score already and would have started their innings in better conditions for batting had Australia declared. We also could theoretically have declared at 200 and rolled them twice for under 100. Doesn't mean declaring at 200 would have made us more likely to win. It's such a nothing argument.

Can you point out a few Tests in recent times where Australia accepted a draw where a win was possible?

well they made 500 and bowled Pakistan out in 50 overs for 148 and decided to bat again for 23 overs for some reason and make another 90 and ended up three wickets shy of bowling them out in the second innings.

They could have enforced the follow on.

Jesus the way some of you muppets are carrying on you’d think the Gabba Test has been washed out every year for the last 30.

Get a bit of a grip on reality.
Yeah it is not like it is Sydney

Spent the vast majority of the day off the field, finally coming back out now: tea in 1 hour.

They want to kill Test cricket I swear.
Not sure why they couldn't take it beforehand at 3:00/3:10 local time or something like that? Perhaps there's inflexibility in playing conditions.

This is pretty disingenuous and I'm assuming the missing context is an oversight rather than on purpose because you're a much better poster than that.

They gave themselves 171 overs to bowl out Pakistan on a road. Pakistan finished the innings 7/443 chasing 506.

The Test in question was 4 days after a Test where our bowlers bowled 230 overs and was explained as them playing the long game in a series they would go on to win after needing to bowl another 208 overs in the third Test.

All important context and I would argue given that context that the decision to not force them to follow-on in an attempt to preserve the bowlers while still giving themselves 171 overs to win was pretty reasonable.
