I agree, bat all day and bugger their bowlers. Hazlewood going down and Marsh not bowling just means that trying for a result is going to cook Starc and Cummins for the remaining tests that will actually matter.

Genuine think its a missed opportunity tomorrow if Australia come out and plod 40 off the first 10 overs. If that happens, then its game over- a draw.

Given the pressure Khawaja, Marnus and McSweeney and the lack of flex from Aus management, I cant see it happening.
There's no opportunity left. It's done. Go in 1-1 to Melbourne.

I have been critical of the short ball in the past... Today what would you have them do... The ball is doing sweet **** all. Pitch it up and they would have been just as untroubled.
The half hearted short balls are much easier for tail enders to score off.

Using ODI tactics when the bowlers aren’t fresh is beyond stupid, especially when there was definitely still a little in the pitch. If they get the runs with us pitching it up then well played but trying to buy tail end wickets is such negative captaincy.

Remind me why Marsh is in the team....to bat AND bowl....but he hardly bowls. Hazelwood out of game (and series) so Australia are a bowler down and looking cooked and tired....this is when Marsh should be bought on to bowl..but he hasn't yet. He offers nothing......at all. Disgraceful. Why do they keep picking him.....so that the "Bison" can take miracle catches?.......and yes I live in Perth, WA..

He has taken the same amount of wickets as Lyon has this series

Have said it before many times, but the captains that I had when I used to coach under 17's (where you leave most of the skippering to the actual captain) had better tactics than the Cummins/McDonald combo.

He is close mates with Pat Cummins. Always been a boys club at Cricket Australia.

Why not have a little dash and put alot dangle in front of the Indians?

Nup. Australia's tactics should be to get the last wicket, declare straight away, then send India back in. Time is of the essence. All out attack with what time is remaining. Australia batting again would be pointless.

Being ignored by some that we still hold an almost 200 lead.
It's ultimately been a pretty solid effort, just not to be with the rain delays. The first part of that is getting lost on some given the last hour.

I'd say if we can't trust Marsh to bowl more than he did in this situation, he shouldn't be in the team (especially with no Green). But can't fault Cummins and Starc's efforts today.

They needed most to be in to stop singles, just aim top of off stump, and make them take a risk to score.

We had a long on when there should have been a mid on, easy single. Then had Starc at mid-off way to wide. They get a few singles through there. Just got it all wrong. Plus he is trying to think about all this when he is totally knackered. When he was that stuffed and still bowling through necessity let Smith take charge for a while.
