I think we need to find another Captain before the Ashes.

Great bowler, but he drops his bundle way too often when the heat is on as a Captain.

The current version of the Poms are pretty good at putting on the heat and his Captaincy in England left a lot to be desired. And hasn’t got better.

Admittedly a difficult day with a bowler down but for about the last 10 overs I simply couldn’t see how we were trying to get the last wicket. Which, ya know, might’ve given us a chance to win the game.

Head or Carey probably the only contenders in the side ATM. Which probably saves Cummins unfortunately.

I agree Cummins is a useless captain but we don't have any real options to replace him.

I remember Warney used to shell some absolute sodas (ask Damien Fleming) and take some that were absolutely flying. Always seemed weird to me to have one of the best bowlers in history fielding in the slips. Might have been more Warney's fitness levels dictating this though
Exactly...also why the fig is Head fielding at short leg?? Surely McSweeney goes straight in there if not Ussie.

Bailey should deadset resign though.

Re: Hazelwood, he's been let down by the medical advice as badly as the rest of us.

They went with McSweeney, which seemed to be who BF wanted picked.

So your argument is that he should resign over the selection of Mitch Marsh? He/his last name conned a ****in lot of selectors before the current bunch!

Lyon has always been an enigma for me. He has done a wonderful job as Australia's leading spinner for many years, but it seems as though when you would expect a world class spinner to exert influence on a game, he's not quite there. Seems to be more dangerous earlier in a game than later on.
Except he's better in the third and fourth innings than he is in the first two.

Lots of grievances with the team's approach, management and selection.

But come on, they have played very well over all in this match. The Smith drop on ball one is likely the difference between a win and a draw, but he did score a critical century.

India hav e scrapped past the follow-on but have also been thoroughly outplayed to this stage. Let's see how day five goes.

We can scrutinise tactics etc. all night long but the reality is Hazlewood getting injured probably cost us any chance at the win.

Cummins/Starc were already stuffed and with rain around tomorrow this was always headed to a draw unless we wrapped it up at least before Tea.

I can't believe India avoided the follow on, reading comments about tactics & captaincy. Surely it wasn't that bad & India had a fair amount of luck?

May have been pointed out already but the 100 he made when the team was 3-70 were fairly handy
Yep.

It was stupidly pointed out as if batting has an impact on fielding. What he did with the bat does not change the impact of his dropped catch.

Surgeons don't excuse sewing a patient up with the organs in the wrong spot just because yesterday they saved a guy.
