Three

We can’t consistently be failing in the top order collapses and let’s face it whoever. Bats three atm they will fail against bumrah

Marnus has been consistently failing the past 12 y tests

Marsh is not fit out for Webster

Inglis in for Marnus boland for hazelwood

Best chance for us to win imo going forward is to have a attacking middle order 4/5/6/7

And hope the top three can do something order for me

Ussie
Sydney
Smudge
Head
Inglis
Webster
Carey
Bowlers
That is the side I like but as I have just said in a previous post knowing the Australian selectors there will be only 1 change,Boland for Hazelwood. But how Khawja stays in I struggle with.

good stuff
India were all happy when they avoided the follow on. They thought they were going to have a stress free day
Cummins said fcuk that..yeah sure the likely hood is a draw but now there is a little bit of pressure back on India

Its not just about today, its about the rest of the series...
get Jaiwal, rohit and Kohli out cheaply again

lol.

There are guys in that dressing room that have played international cricket for a decade and a half: they’re aware of how the game works. Being happy that they had taken a big step to avoiding defeat does not mean they would assume today would just be a day of R and R and choosing which variation of naan to have with lunch.

The answer is always garlic naan

Completely agree with your last paragraph and this is the point I am making. Moving on from 3-4 (perhaps more if you include the bowlers) requires planning and a period of time. It simply won't be a knee-jerk reaction to the poor batting performances recently.

Given the above and the fact he just scored a century and is Steve Smith, you wont also go axing your most experienced and well creditentialed player along with the above. Smith will get to the Ashes.
it's ultimately a catch-22 as we're likely headed for a lean period regardless. this is the calm before the storm i'd wager
