From what I've read, Grace was so narcisstic that he would refuse to walk off after being given out, claiming that the crowd were there to see him bat.
Yes, "You see those people? They've come to see me bat, not you umpire, play on."

It was in a WTC final

the 2 best teams of the 3 years prior

Someone said do it outside of Aus, he did it on the big stage

I’m well aware of the context and it was a great innings

Again, for a player to be considered in the very elite tier they are going to need to do it more than once.

Warner copped it his whole career; he went to SA when they were at the top of the tree and smoked them everywhere, and Bangladesh, lowly though they may be, managed to draw a series 1-1 against Australia over there; Warner still managed back to back hundreds there and won Australia a test with one of them in a fourth innings chase

Not the best 100 by any means but one of my favourites! Not much better than an all time great with his back to the wall rising to the occasion!

The second 50 was exceptional.

Any way for us to win this game considering the showers due for the next few days? What score is enough to give us some decent bowling time and to try roll India.

Is it a go nuts to 400 and put them in for 20-30 mins tonight situation?

Not your best response. His highest score in India is 90. He has only scored one Test century outside Australia. If you can't comprehend that then that is a reflection on you and your lack of knowledge about cricket plus a poor feel for the game.

Where did I say test centuries?

Travis Head is a big game player, and has proven himself both at home and overseas in all formats.

If you can't comprehend that then that is a reflection on you and your lack of knowledge about cricket plus a poor feel for the game.

With Head, he has gone a little way in improving his outside of Aus numbers.

Only 22 Tests so a small sample size.

First 11 he averaged 23.7 which included a dismal series in Sri Lanka. Last 11 he has averaged 40.

We'll see how it looks in another 20 Tests time. He'll be keen to make amends in Sri Lanka. I imagine he'll open like he did with success in India

Oh please.
Domestic Sports League Salary Cap Rorting is nowhere near as severe/embarrassing to our country from an international Sports community perspective.

I still get crap from a couple of my English mates about the disgraceful acts Warner and Smith did.

What's worse, esp as captain, I don't think Smudger was actually generally remorseful at all for what he did (I do feel like Warner was genuinely contrite for his part in it)

You'll never convince me otherwise that no pro Aussie athlete has brought shame and embarrassment to our country over the last 20-30 years than Smith.
Smith actually had little to do with it. Warner was showing Bancroft how to scuff up the ball, Smith walked past, chuckled and said, "I don't want to know". Probably never thought they'd actually do it. His mistake was no asking what they were doing, ie leadership, and was punished.

Still, sandpaper did nothing. No-where near as affective as England's Murray's Mints. A couple of cm's of sandpaper would wear out before it did much. Unfortunately, it was deliberate attempt at cheating and were punished as they should be. In England they got MBE's for cheating.

Random question for the stats fanatics

When a player has 9 centuries and 17 50s (as Head now does) , are the 9 50s that they made in their centuries included in that total of 17 ? Or completely seperate?

Exactly right and well said. Unfortunately we have a lot of people on this site who are biased one eyed Aussie cricket fans who are stuck in the Aussie cricket bubble and don't like that Bubble to he burst.

Warner struggled outside Australia consistently and quite rightly copped it. Travis Head can not consistently get the job done outside Australia so quite rightly he should be questioned too. Anyone who doesn't is far too emotional and has a poor feel for the game and their decision making in regards to cricket is lacking a lot. It's stupid actually.

Both Warner and Head are good but they aren't elite. The elite are good outside their home country.
