We shall see if any of those young fellas can translate their talent into test match cricket. Let's see how they develop for the remainder of the first class summer. Oh wait - it's on hold until early February and the home test matches are long gone.
Konstas looks good. McSweeney - jury is well and truly out about him as a test player.

Goodwin, Connolly, Kellaway maybe. Patterson is nearly 32. Look through the Sheffield Shield top run scorers and averages list. Apart from Konstas there's no-one under 30 - Hunt maybe at 28 - who even looks like a test match batsman.
Tim Ward goes alright.

Last few innings are a big ton, 2 x 90 odds in the one game and a 50 in the game before.

Short sample size but going pretty well

Agree, like what I have seen from Ward. There's actually plenty of opening options going forward, it's the number 3 and number 6 that are huge issues. I still have zero idea who could bat 6 next series let alone in a few years, maybe it's Connolly who on earth knows though. If we assume 4 and 5 are Head/Green (whatever order don't care) it's the other positions we need to work out.

Openers- between McSweeney, Konstas, Hunt, Ward, Goodwin (pretty sure that's the one WA bat) possibly
No3- McSweeney (is he better at 3?), Green (maybe would prefer him at 4)
No6- who on earth knows very few guys who can bat 6, though maybe I'm old school and a guy like Connolly who might bat higher could start at 6. I'm all ears for options at 6 though. Clayton would be one I'd throw up as some sort of bolter.

Really puzzled with the way Jadeja has approached this innings. He’s an incredibly smart bowler and he’s actually gotten a lot of bounce which isn’t something he usually does; I’m amazed he hasn’t gone over the wicket to the left handers and has persisted bowling this leg stump stuff. He could have caused some problems if he attacked the off stump with some of the life he’s gotten at times

Well played 50 Carey!!!

In saying that I've never seen a player so committed to reverse sweeping when they are so bad at Playing it haha

It's almost funny but then I remember how bad it was in the sub continent! The thing that annoys me about it isn't the shot- it's the fact he's possibly the best driver through the V and covers in the team. Why not just punch it through there, drive it along the ground? It makes no sense
