It makes a lot of sense really. Remember how many fans bitched and moaned about "tight arse" Dan not opening the purse strings for treloar/Adams etc... this way lolnorf can tell their 4 fans they did everything to get Dusty, they get media coverage in Melbourne and when they miss out at least they tried.
Losing a player to their original club is no great loss and they make us pay a much fairer value for Dusty, if we get Dusty at 800k cos no one offers anything (like in 2013) we can chase other targets with ease.
