Couldn't be happier for him. He's always shown flashes - even as fringe player, he'd play games that really stood out, and is effort was unquestionable, but he was a bit inconsistent, maybe hadn't quite found his role or his confidence.

All seems to have clicked now though. Feels like Mattner in a way. Unassuming yet integral member of a (hopefully) Premiership-winning defensive unit.

This announcement has me more excited than the Mills one!
I love Millsy and am thrilled that he will be a Swan for life, but I really always thought he would be and would have been shocked if he hadn't have re-signed.
Foxy on the other hand, has had to scrape and scrap for everything he's gotten and after his form in the second half of this year, I'm certain there would have been plenty of other clubs sniffing around (crazy if they haven't), so to read that he has signed on for another two has absolutely delighted me.

Onya Foxy, love ya to death 😍

Love the graphics the swans are doing this year...and Look:eyes: Robbie Fox re-signs. So good we can celebrate it twice!

Mills and now Fox.

I see the Swans are locking up the Norm Smith candidates before they can leverage it for more money.

I’m not sure that he has improved so much.
He’s always been strong in a contest without being a JPK.
Always had good speed without being a Jetta or a Shaw
A good kick without being a Malco
Good overhead without being a Paddy Mac.
Good at defending but not Nick Smith.
Clever and calm without the craftiness of Luke Hodge.

Now, he is exactly what we need in a seventh defender… the glue that binds it all together.
And maybe his elevation to best 22 lock is more a failure on the part of the coaches to recognise how a capable, well-rounded, level-headed player might just fit that role, that is actually not a specific role but a series of bit parts to compliment the others in the defensive group, than it is about Robbie becoming a better player.

There was always a strength and consistency about Foxy in our NEAFL days. It’s great to see him getting some recognition at last.

Also, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Rampe is playing a much more reliable role since Robbie secured his spot.

Yep. Been calling this out for a while now. I call him the 'missing cog' everything in the backline just runs smoother with him there.

Was clearly your best player and basically did a meal on Cameron until the last quarter, but he was really all alone down back. One goal was gifted to Cameron by Stengle. The Big Mac Brothers let you down badly and your midfield was nowhere to be seen. Great to see Robbie got another two years as he's got a big heart and probably the most improved player in the AFL. Loved him to bits at Coburg and he's been a revelation at the Swans.

Fox got the 3rd most POTY votes against top 4 sides this year. Pretty bloody good for a medium defender!
He was terrific.
I'm not one to doubt the coaches as a rule, but I always wondered what they didn't see in him. I've always thought he was very dependable and I struggle to think of an actual bad game he's played .
