This thread is not about Covid, lockdowns, or vaccines. It is about Donald Trump. While Trump was in office during the pandemic and his response to Covid is relevant, there are pertinent threads for you to post your opinions on those things in.

It might also do with reminding a few that when you post on the SRP, you are responsible for backing up/verifying your claims to fact. What this means is that you will be asked time to time to support your claims with evidence, to ensure that this forum is as free of misinfomation as we can make it.

Just came across this, from 2017, and am genuinely shocked. TBH, I never considered Gabbard seriously. When I read about her in reports it seemed to me she was a climber, doing for the career and money. I never knew she was a krishna member, in fact a central member of this group in Hawaii. Apparently her parents were heavily involved as well. Her guru, this Butler guy is quite a number. Very much cut from the cult leader cloth.

Although the Independents for Godly Government political party that Butler's followers founded in the mid-'70s didn't formally last, the group's heavy involvement in Hawai'i's politics did. Elected officials who have been Butler devotees include former Hawai'i State Sen. Rick Reed, former Maui County Councilman Wayne Nishiki, current Hawai'i State Sen. Mike Gabbard, former Hawai'i State Board of Education member Carol Gabbard, and current U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

Rep. Gabbard celebrated Butler (who now goes by Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupanda Paramahamsa, among other names) as her "guru dev" in a video presentation for a 2015 ISKCON anniversary event. She identifies as the first Hindu U.S. Member of Congress, and she co-chairs the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans. Her ancestry is European and Samoan. She is the daughter of early Butler followers, Sen. Mike Gabbard and Carol Gabbard.
