Anyone who thinks Jaiswal's not at fault...

1. Kohli wouldn't have made the run at the non-danger end, therefore it's a bad call, even if Kohli honoured the bad call.
2. Kohli would have to be in white-ball mode to be backing up enough to even have a chance of making it.
3. As a person with sight of the non-striker AND the ball position, even if he didn't hear/see Kohli call "no", Jaiswal should have been able to see Kohli start turning and he should have started to stop at that point himself.

Why did Kohli know in the first place that he hit it straight to a mid-on fielder if he wasn't already ball watching? That's the fundamental that I'm caught up on. He should've run.

I am responding to the general point that all games should ideally be 5 days, which would justify deliberately trying to make pitches more batting friendly (and thus produce more roads). Which is a silly point.

Ensuring a game goes for 5 days should not be the consideration when trying to produce a good pitch.

Tests are scheduled for 5 days, pitches are prepared ideally for movement off the pitch for a day or so, best for batting day 3 then starting to wear with two heights and spin days four and 5.
That is the usual Aussie pitch however weather can affect the pitch. Of course a road will occur occasionally, and Indian pitches turn square from the first ball.
