Because it’s probably the most heated rivalry they have, it’s a trophy they haven’t had in a decade, India keeps beating them on their home soil which never happened in their history so would surely be something that has pricked their pride. The WTC they have already won anyway which while nice, they’ve ticked off the bucket list. It’s also a relatively contrived and inequitable tournament.

...just no. The Ashes is and always will be the most heated rivalry to any Australian player. Any other series is a pretty cheap facsimile in terms of emotional motivation.
