The problem with having a volatile number 5 and no number 6.Only Australia could make 470 and lose.
I'm a clairvoyant.I think you're a bit ahead of yourself here.
I can see us absolutely shitting ourselves in the second dig and getting rolled.
I believe we're mentally fragile as a side and inclined to panic far too often with the bat.
The thing in our favour here is this really is a featherbed at the moment, and hopefully it starts to die and keep low which will help us if we have enough in the bank. The closer they get here, the less likely that is.
Siraj has lifted as wellPleasure to watch this fella bowl.
He has....but all the other bowlers are threatening as well.I'd still argue its a good batting pitch - but Bumrah is having one of the greatest series by a single bowler, I think I've ever witnessed.
I've never seen a single bowler have such a skewed, dominating influence, AWAY from home mind you as well.
Bumrah bowling here, makes Cummins, Starc and Boland look like the touring players.
Im here.Where is that fool that's been banging on about this road of a pitch?
Just go Webster, he’s as good as any other option with the bat and gives us the extra bowling option.McSweeney?
In all seriousness, if replacing Marsh with a pure batsman for Sydney, who would you select?
Needed to bowl at the stumps. Our play and misses went flying overAdmittedly we did not bowl all that great, but where was the seam assistance India has had today. Was it the ball. Did we have a dud Kooka with a poor seam, less lacquer as the India attack even with Bumrah is not up to our measure, even without Hazlewood.
Looking at no more than 250/75 to defend. No Hazlewood, a cooked and sore Starc, nil from Marsh. Unless we get a similar Kooka cherry to the one Indian had today, we are sunk.
Selectors should have shown more balls and dropped Marsh for MCG test. The risk paid off with Konstas but giving Marsh too many chances was a fatal mistake
Yes buts alot of what he's doing is mental, players are just shit scared to be positive against him which allows to bowl where he likes. He's pretty clearly the best bowler in the world
I wonder if that is true, or just how it seems. I can't be arsed trying to run numbers over it, too difficult for my mind and care factor.
But running the numbers may be part of the problem. Getting ahead of the game, worried about when to declare, rather than just ****ing bat for a while, see how the innings unfolds, and start worrying about declaration targets down the track.
Its something for media and us to talk about. But maybe the coaching staff and data guys should shut about it for a few hours most of the time (assuming they aren't already).
But he’s from NSW and he’s a good bloke playing on his home ground, plus Pat likes him.Agree, massive spud
Bit of a shame he chucks itPleasure to watch this fella bowl.
Bumrah’s seam position is next level .. almost zero wobble .. makes a big differenceI sat through an entire days play at the ground yesterday watching our bowlers make this look the flattest least threatening wicket ever with their poor bowling. Now I see their bowlers ripping through our best players with ease. Someone explain what we were doing wrong with the bowling to not be anywhere near this threatening
