The thing with Marnus' "luck", it is just not that simple.

He doesn't feather the ball that much because he keeps the bat close to the pad.

So many edges drop short of the cordon because of how soft his hands are.

This is stuff every player should be capable of.

I'll add that at his core, Marnus does not have great physical attributes. This is why he was still playing 4th grade in his late teens when most would-be test players would be in 1st grade.

What he is though is a great preparer, has a strong mind, and is very disciplined in the way he builds his innings.
