You rarely walk off the ground, thinking “well that was far too good for me. I don’t belong at this level.” It is poor technique, concentration, at that instance, that normally brings about your dismissal.I think it ultimately came down to which batter made the most idiotic decision at the worst time.
That's kind of what defined the game - a bunch of batters getting out to a rubbish shots and a couple of star innings from the few guys that actually put some value on their wicket.
And it's what decided the game when Pant didn't put any value on his. I was listening to ABC on the radio, Sunny Gavaskar lost his mind, and rightfully so.
Hey, at least he managed to get through a whole post without mentioning he was an umpire...Tell me you have NFI, without telling me.
Both struggled with the concept of dismissing batsmen tooAt least Mitch Marsh & Joel Wilson got to witness a good game in their final tests.
I heard Ch 9 own the rights to hotspot technology hence why it’s not used since Ch 7 got the tv rightsHotspot isn’t as reliable as real time Snicko plus it’s ultra expensive and it’s unrealistic for smaller nations to afford the 200k per test or whatever it is per test to run it.
So snicko didn’t pick it up because it was glove or is it just not very reliable?
In a thread full of shit takes this is up there.Yep. Australia probably lucky to win it. They didn't bowl anything special. India just self destructed. Poor cricket.
Australia still have issues of their own going forward that need addressing.
You could power the world with Indian tearsAt least the world is not short of salt for new years.

The funny thing about that is we threw our players under the bus more than anyone else wouldJust on this continued reference to sandpaper that opposition supporters like to throw at us
By a long, long way tooThe funny thing about that is we threw our players under the bus more than anyone else would
It's interesting to me how they capitulated late, after Jaiswal's wicket. Sundar refused to force strike, as though he didn't care or knew they didn't rate him. Bumrah was pissed off about something in the dugout; the most unshakable, affable bloke in cricket, and he sitting there staring off into the distance as though he knew they were done. The way both Jaiswal and Akash refused to accept the third umpire's decision.
There's something going on there, behind the scenes. Something isn't right with the Indian camp, something that was fine prior to the series and was fine right up until today.
Funny thing about pugnacious coaches, they put pressure on you to live up to the attitude. All the meanness and pettiness in the world won't save you if you can't put it on the park.
They beat us with Rahane offering a bat to Nathan Lyon with all of their signatures to celebrate his 100th test. They refused to surrender, that there was a hole too deep to dig their way out of; today, they ****ing gave us the test, with more or less the precise same players.
We'll see how they take the park in Sydney, but something stinks.
Spoke to some Indians outside the ground and they were not pleased. The cheer when snicko didnt show up was deafening, so it made a great day even betterI think it rolled off the splice near the “G” on his bat sticker. You can see it on slow motion side on. Only explanation I can think of for not registering on snicko. A flick of a glove or edge will make a noise that would be picked up.

Yes, it was wrong. No doubt about that, and yes, the players should have been suspended. However, what annoys me is every cricket nation has been guilty of ball tampering over the years, Faf Du Plessis guilty twice, but the only cricket nation who has had the balls to stand up and suspend players was Australia.
Cricket fans who have been around as long as I have may recall the days when India had a dearth of pace bowlers and their attacks used to consist of a couple of batsmen who would bowl a couple of overs of pace, and four quality spinners. They would get the new ball and continually rub it into the dirt to scuff up one side.
I never heard people complaining about ball tampering in those days.
I'm not talking about just their batting, not really. Add to it all Ashwin's retirement, and you've got essentially a similar situation to Aust under Langer: a split playing group unwilling to back the coach.I don't think it's as deep as you're making it out to be. Their batting has been frail all series - they lucked into superb batting conditions in Perth but every other innings they've basically collapsed.
Let's face it without Bumrah it would be 3 or 4 zip.

If the ball didnt deviate then fair enough. I dont think the umpire could ignore the deflection. How do you explain it otherwise?Spoke to some Indians outside the ground and they were not pleased. The cheer when snicko didnt show up was deafening, so it made a great day even better
