It's interesting to me how they capitulated late, after Jaiswal's wicket. Sundar refused to force strike, as though he didn't care or knew they didn't rate him. Bumrah was pissed off about something in the dugout; the most unshakable, affable bloke in cricket, and he sitting there staring off into the distance as though he knew they were done. The way both Jaiswal and Akash refused to accept the third umpire's decision.

There's something going on there, behind the scenes. Something isn't right with the Indian camp, something that was fine prior to the series and was fine right up until today.

Funny thing about pugnacious coaches, they put pressure on you to live up to the attitude. All the meanness and pettiness in the world won't save you if you can't put it on the park.

They beat us with Rahane offering a bat to Nathan Lyon with all of their signatures to celebrate his 100th test. They refused to surrender, that there was a hole too deep to dig their way out of; today, they ****ing gave us the test, with more or less the precise same players.

We'll see how they take the park in Sydney, but something stinks.

I've said something similar for a couple of weeks at least. The team doesn't play like they are unified. There have been a lot of individual spotlight moments, maybe a divide between the old and the new?

Cummins is a brilliant captain. People should stop hating him just because he isn’t a larrikin. He is smart and he always shows cojones when the game is on the line. He is the opposite of a squib. How many times has he got the job done? We have a lot of great successes over the last years… Ashes, WTC, CWC, hopefully regain BGT. He has been phenomenal and a massive upgrade on the previous bloke

The general bogan and old codger can't fathom how a craft beer drinking environmentalist can be so good at cricket.

Pat's a great example of why the world needs to unite in our shared interests and accept the differences of others. The worst that can happy is that you learn something.

The problem is the captain. He is an enormous rut and he has turned into a massive sook. He is a negative drag on the team, calling out the other bowlers for not supporting Bumrah, saying the team didn’t fight until the end, etc. Showing a petulance and poor body language in response to his young player dropping a catch.

All he had to say was that the Aussie outlasted them in a brilliant test. His boys fought well but couldn’t get it done. They had some brilliance to celebrate in Bumrah, Reddy, even Washington and Jaiswal. Nevermind reload for the next game.

Instead his comments read as sulky and negative. I think he is close to losing the team and maybe Bumrah feels he should be leading like he did in Perth.

Could be down to a few things. Sharma is utterly useless. How is he in the team and even worse how is he captain? Kohli the same. Should have been tapped on the shoulder before now. And he's a sore, insufferable ####head who his more level headed and reasonable team mates probably sick of and now especially so as he can't make a score. Their tail is long but that's two experienced top order bats you can't rely on for anything anymore. Then bowling wise obviously a lot is left to Bumrah and Siraj is another dipsh!t they potentially appreciate no more in the change rooms than we do here.

Time people moved on from sandpapergate. It was not a good thing to happen, but it's been dealt with and in the past. Time to move on.
Tbh, it's kind of amusing the way a large part of the cricketing world is still running on the fumes of sandpaper gate.

E.g. Stuart Broad, having thrown a massive tantrum following Bairstow's stumping at Lord's, claimed that he was just disappointed as Australia had a chance to morally redeem themselves after the sandpaper controversy by withdrawing the appeal. It's like, "Move on, ffs. We have.".

Wonder how Starc's fitness is for Sydney. He looks sore and seeing he never bowls well in Sydney I'd play Richo. A fresh bowler at the end of a long series might not be a bad thing.

The other change is obvious. Marsh for Webster.
My fear is something goes ping on Cummins, that's why Marsh is a no for me in Sydney if he can't bowl, he needs that fifth bowler in the side to give him a rest.

I think it rolled off the splice near the “G” on his bat sticker. You can see it on slow motion side on. Only explanation I can think of for not registering on snicko. A flick of a glove or edge will make a noise that would be picked up.

Should be fined for excessive argument with the onfield umps.

If the ball didnt deviate then fair enough. I dont think the umpire could ignore the deflection. How do you explain it otherwise?

Hats off to the 3rd umpire for having the stones to call it.
Yep.

But Stones?

It was dead set Maradona Hand of God.

Wilson's dog fell asleep at the vital moment and forgot to bark.

Just got home and watching the replay.
That Jaiswal dismissal in slo mo was not out. A ridiculous decision on review. This test was plagued by non lbw calls of which Jaiswal was a beneficiary today but no way could you over turn that. Cost India the series. Shameful umpiring/ not that bit icc processes.
No way that was conclusive and if a flatline snicko and no hot spot it's simply a not out going with umpires calll
Indian fans at the ground every right to be pissed off
