You talk celebrations of this magnificent game, (I was there when Hooksey hit the 5 boundaries off Griegy in ‘77)

This event was truly global.

Attendances, TV viewership, it’s hard to get your head around these numbers.

Spent 5 days totally engrossed in a game that became an ongoing milestone on & off the field.

I hope people genuinely appreciate the game for what it is.

& it is a magnificent game.
I said last night I was that envious of Melbourne. Our Test was amazing but it lasted two days, those lucky buggers got it for five and a banger of a game on top of it all.

Anyone see konstas giving it to bumrah? Hilarious stuff. In 3 days when the images reach India, he will be even more hated.

Might by the jack ginnivan of cricket
Haha can’t wait for it to do the rounds. He’s already an “enemy that needs to be humbled”.

I love the way they talk. Everything is so combative and biblical.

That test contained the best sounding cover drive from Hookes. Have watched this shot a hundred times (starts at the right shot).

Two other things happened that day.

Rick McCosker came out to bat covered in bandages.

& John Lever, on the fence, skulled a can in front of Bay 13.

True dinks.

He is often a flog, but I think he is always fired up and his body language gives the impression he's willing to deck someone to get the win in even a lost cause. Narcissist or not that is better for team morale than the captain openly sulking.

Yes, I'd lean more towards Kohli's body language as a captain, but he takes it too far.

He can be petulant, and his behaviour in shoulder charging Konstas was disgraceful. Any other player would've been suspended (2nd offence) but we all know the Indian Cricket Board has the ICC in its pocket.

Kholi is more positive than Sharma but his character would also make him just as bad a captain imo.

I'm a Melbournian by birth, state of origin was very conflicting for me in the 80s. It's only after living in Adelaide for forty years that I'm accepted as a local.

Only 40 years to be accepted in that dump? I'd half it quite honestly.
My mates missus who is ex Adelaide Hills is now classed as Melbournian in only half the time

Mofra you're clearly had too much to drink good sir.

It's impossible to deviate a whole pitch to hit another player.
Dean Martin once said that you're not really drunk unless you can't lie down without holding on.

Here's the photo... can't find the clip, but it shows him loop infront of him to get in his face

40 years, that's 3 generations in Adelaide.

Well I'm doing better than the bloke at the pub I saw then.

I can at least navigate the train station stairs

I know it was the wicket that started the downfall but I didn't think the Pant shot was that awful. It was a longhop that deserved to be smashed. Someone like Pant needs to probably see the ball going to the boundary occasionally so he can keep his focus.
Sure he mishit it but the shot was there to be played

The 1st innings shot though was dumb

It wasn’t his intent that was wrong. It deserved to be put away. You don’t have to try and hit bad balls for 6 on a big field with men back, though. He could have hit it on the ground
