If this was in India, they'd be doctoring the pitch. I have no idea why we wouldn't have a pitch that is completely flat, and have both teams score 600+ an innings for a draw.
We'd rather lose with honour than win like corrupt little flogs who sook when things dont go their way. Id rather be the sooks and win though

Well, apparently he took all the pressure off the Aussie batting order, shouldn’t they as a professional cricket team representing their country have performed regardless?

All this crap, It’s not Sam’s fault, he’s just playing cricket, it’s the media’s fault.
Agree with your last statement.
Also feels like we often have a let down as a team after a great win. See last ashes

Our batting can be so poor.

Konstas needs to pull his head in, he's believed too much of his own publicity. He needed to mix responsibility with the aggression.

Plus he needs to learn not to stir up the opposition, particularly when one of them just happens to be the best bowler in the world. Deano learnt that lesson the hard way with Ambrose.

Head, again, shows how vulnerable he is early on in his innings - last three innings 0, 1 & 4.
Imagine how shit of a coach you would be if you took a 19 year old who scored a half century on debut and told him to change how he plays.

Young kid has stuff to work on, blow me down with a feather

Batting on roads does not one any good.
This comes from the debacle with the dukes balls being introduced into Sheffield shield. Every single batsman for Australia who could only bit runs on a flat track i.e Warner complained about the pitches so they resurfaced them to roads and now we’re doing a Maxine nightingale

Should have served up a Hume Highway style pitch like India did in Ahmedabad to ensure they won the series.
Cannot understand why they didn’t.
Every other test nation would have.

**** that, this is the most entertaining cricket I've seen in ages. Maybe it's slightly too much but I'd way prefer batting to mean something and 50s be hard to get than both teams scoring 400 in the first innings and the game is decided by which batsmen don't cash in the most.
This is true test cricket.

Not to this extent. Way too heavily skewed towards the ball.

Several mirror deliveries line and bounce are completely different based on just the pitch. It’s a crapshoot.

I prefer there being a bit of balance. This game will be done by end of tomorrow at this rate. Melbourne had the better balance where there was something in it for both bat and ball and lasted the 5 days.

Siraj is a better bowler than people give him credit for, people are just piling on due to his heated passion/mood swings.

Konstas isn't up to it, got sucked in by Bumrah's playful banter and there's only so much a BBL style approach to test cricket can take you. He's not going to be a career test player.
Lol Konstas has scored more than all but Pant and Jadeja across the two teams so far 🤡

Should have served up a Hume Highway style pitch like India did in Ahmedabad to ensure they won the series.

Bumrah would still take wickets on a highway against this batting line up.

Brittle is the word I've been using for a long time now. Since Lab and Smith both came off the boil, its relied on one of Khawaja, Head, Carey or (for a few months through last summer) even Marsh to either be in form or have a one-off innings.
Rarely in maybe two years has there been more than one in-form player in the top six, which means if that one guy goes early the whole side can collapse.

I think this Konstas kid does need to review what he is doing. It's bazball gone mad almost. He is trying to flog every ball to the boundary, more than you would in a T20. Test cricket is going to lend itself to reading the situation occasionally and batting accordingly.

Warner had a poor technique on any deck that had life in it.

For all the entertainment there’s no substance to Konstas game. He will be out of the side sooner than he got into it. He’s only young so he’s got time but aggressive openers like Sehwag and Jayasuria had more to their game than slogging.

Head has had a shocking 3 innings, it’s all good playing that attacking way he does but the situation today surely you pull back being 3/30 and not go as hard at the ball as early as he did given this pitch.

Hopefully Webster makes a big one on debut.

i dont have a problem with how konstas went about it. why bring a guy in at 19 and then tell him to go against the way he plays? there are a couple of obvious flaws, but better to be in the test side at 19 and work on them than be mid to late 30's and still be poor with footwork and shot selection.
