Possibly but (if India get out quickly in the morning) all 3 innings will have been under 200 and Australia will have to chase about that batting last. That won't be easy with a fragile batting line up.

Our only ace is that bumrah probably won't be 100 % if he bowls.
Also, correct me if I’m wrong here but he can’t bowl first up?

Boland hasn't proven to be as great away from Australia which is holding him back from being a starter all the time Sri Lanka be big for him
He bowled fantastic against India in the WTC on a friendlier wicket and then got pummelled on the flatter pitches in the Ashes. He seems a lot fresher having bowled 3 less Tests than the others.

The selectors will probably stick to Starc anyway because he's a leftie and in the NSW inner sanctum

Boland is more consistent then Starc and if it was any player Boland should replace it be Starc, but they won't as they do like having a Left hand pace as it gives another angle, line and bounce approach...

Hazelwood is the one I thought he may be able to replace

That's nothing against Josh who's been great for us, but he does seem to struggle to back up across a series and thinking the selectors need to potentially review his spot in the 11 - especially if they're wanting him to still be part of the ODI & T20 setups

It's as entertaining cricket since the 2005 Ashes.

What a bore that in a day or two we will be stuck with t20 bs.
Haven’t watched a second of BBL this summer. Don’t plan on it. Funny how things change. The ODIs were unmissable for me back in the day. The golden goose of T20 was cooked for me a fair while ago

I'd like to think our batters can get it done, but recent history tells me that the stage is set for another heroic captain's knock from Cummins.

Assuming we are chasing around 200, I think Konstas and Head will be the two big wickets. Both score quickly and the quicker we can get the chase to around 100 or less the better.

Again I compare it to the Ashes. Why is the series nearly always dead and buried by the time the Poms get to Melbourne/Sydney? They are never good enough.

Much rather a spectacle like this.
India series is far far more interesting than the Ashes mainly because England are so uncompetitive here

Openers must do their job and stick around (and score a few runs). Really hope it’s not up to patty again to get the runs.

It's superb entertainment
Elite sport
I'm hoping the talk of England putting together a decent team is true because I'm sick of great series over there and them folding like a cheap suit out here.

Well said. The pitch will deteriorate further. Batting last will be tough.

Aust Batting Order - 4th Innings Record

Sam Constas: Yet to bat in 4th innings
Usman Khawaja: 698 runs @ 29.08
Marnus Labuschagne: 271 runs @ 27.10
Steve Smith: 782 runs @ 32.58
Travis Head: 413 runs @ 41.30
Beau Webster: Yet to bat in 4th innings
Alex Carey: 193 runs @ 38.60
Pat Cummins: 23u runs @ 29.62
Mitchell Starc: 266 runs @ 14.77
Nathan Lyon: 181 runs @ 10.05
Scott Boland: 20 runs @ 20.00
So anything under 240 we'll get it done in a canter. Good to know.

I still remember the ad for a UK phone company playing during the 05 Ashes it was played that much and I don’t reckon I missed a second. Just starting living with a girlfriend at the time and was up in the bedroom watching cricket every night. She must of thought “What the **** did I move in with this weird campaigner for?”

Good news for India, just back spasms for Bumrah so he should be good to bowl for India again, bad news for Australia.

Depends how he wakes up in the morning I reckon.
