The difference with me was I wasn’t enough of a batsman to really test his theory.

Controversy aside, the 2019 WC final was brilliant because it wasn't played on the M1. ODIs were way better when 300 was pretty rare, 270 was a great score and you were generally happy with 250.

A wise man (Test Player) told me very early in my Senior Career that it didn’t matter what level you played but 85% of the time a batsman got himself out - the remaining 15% being made up of a good ball, a bad umpiring decision or a piece of bad luck (run out)

It applies to every level of cricket

“And if you reckon, you’re getting any more than two good balls a season, you’re either playing at a level above your ability or you’ve got your hand on it”

Most of us would think back on our cricket career and think this is bang on surely. I can count on one hand how many times I got out to a good ball as opposed to just throwing it away with a rash shot.
