And i think the vast majority of Indian supporters are brilliant generally. A small minority are terrible but we'd have the same like every country
Had a great time walking back from the G on day 5 talking about the game with a couple of Indian guys, one from India one from California. Told us all the best places to go should I ever do a cricket tour.

Given you are crowned the world champions and it pays off the previous years work, I'd put it next in line behind those though.

Can't complain about the state of test cricket and then send over a weakened 11 for the match.

Need to set the standard and go over with the best 11, let the world know if they want it then come and get it.

Nah, JimBob's point that leads come and go through a match was right. 180 in the first innings by India wasn't a "good" score, which was your original point. Australia under performing in their first innings didn't suddenly invalidate India's batting failures.

It was a good pitch for bowlers but the batsmen from both sides largely underperformed. India batting first and failing to have any meaningful advantage heading into the second innings proved costly to them. 340 odd by India overall was under par. Australia proved that by the end.

It's all good though. I have been in your shoes and been wrong before. You will get the call right next time.
Thanks Meow, I tried to get that across but maybe I was too obtuse. Choosing g to bat and getting g rolled for 180 is never good, but that’s ok, teams recover from it. India did until they didn’t.

Anyway, test cricket is pretty great - series like this prove it for me. Some will say that both batting line ups were fragile, but god there was some beautiful bowling.

And they are engaged in the game instead of getting pissed and sunburnt and clapping themselves after singing their nursery rhymes.

They’re singing nursery rhymes and banging their drums. You just can understand what they’re singing

Boland has a Test average that Hazlewood could only dream of.

Even if it blew out five runs per wicket, he’d still have him covered.
We all know why Binga prefers Hazlewood. He's from NSW. Their very best bowling again at eachother I'll take Boland. He can get wickets and look dangerous on absolute roads whereas Hazlewood needs conditions to favour him a bit more. He's also a cripple who can't get himself up for more than 2 tests in a row. Boland has to stay in the side and to me it's a no brainer. Hazlewood becomes the very good depth option. Roles reversed.

The whole culture of how they select the batting lineup needs to change.

It shouldn't be that big of a deal if a batsmen is dropped because they are out of form.

It's not that easy.

You don't want players playing with the mindset that if they fail for a few tests then they will be on the chopping block.

For as long as David Warner “graces” Australian cricket, we can’t take the moral high ground, no matter what the Indians carry on with.

And in any event, the entire Indian team (Bumrah aside), selectors & coaches will be lynched by the Indian public - so of course they need to give the media something else to talk about.

It’s self preservation really.

"evidence"

Australia registered a lower first Innings total but were "miles ahead" somehow?

Ok Chief Wiggum. Keep digging Up!

Inability to call it as it is, is not a strength.

I'm incredibly happy Bumrah pulled out. That injury was massive to the eventual result.
End of Ind 1st innings - Aus ahead
End of Aus 1st - Ind ahead
End of Ind 2nd - Aus ahead
End of Aus 2nd - Aus ahead

I gotta say, this series has been the most fun to watch for me since the 06/07 ashes series.

It's good against India as long as it doesn't get to the dark place it got to in 07/08 ever again.

Nice to see both teams tamed down the celebrations of wickets on day 2 after things looked like that could boil over for the rest of the game after day 1.

Henry Hunt, Kurtis Patterson, Spencer Johnson, Jhye Richardson, Lance Morris, Todd Murphy just some waiting in the wings. Reasonable choices. Like them to come in gradually with some senior blokes there, not all at once.

Marnus teased us with good glimpses but way too unreliable, Smith showed he might have one more in him, time to retire Ussie, a nice score and the BGT is good one to go out with. What's Starc going to be like in a year? That an interesting one for selectors. Died in his arse again the last 2 Tests. That one might be time. There's 6 Tests over winter, SL, West Indies and the WTC Final, so we might find out. I'm thinking he might hit a wall by the Ashes.
I like Cooper Conolly the best out of those who wasn't mentioned!

England had absolute roads last Ashes series. That will favour us in our conditions and they also don't have a bowler like Bumrah, not even close in fact. They will rely heavily on scoring 450 every time they bat as Plan A and than bowl us out for 350 as an example and make us chase a score batting last which puts pressure on the batsman even if it's a benign pitch. It's been there modus operandi since Bazball began. Someone like Boland will revel down here with the way they play. He would have learnt a bit from the last Ashes series of where not to bowl and id back him in to cause real problems for them if they don't adjust to it.
I don’t think you can write off our fast bowling cartel just yet. Boland should get a chance against England. I’d not say he is ineffective against attacking batsmen. He deserves another crack.

Test cricket for me is always far better when bowlers dominate

England have hearts like peas, give up when going gets tough and are delusional
I expect them to throw the towel in like they always do out here
