No projection whatsoever. India's domination of the governing body perverts the game's decision making. That's been obvious ever since they avoided players being punished for racism by threatening to abandon tours.

Kohli in this tour wasn't suspended for obviously suspendable conduct. If he was from Bangladesh?

Why do we think that all of this influence and pressure doesn't subconsciously impact umpires that are required to make decisions in that context? One game removed from a shitload of illegitimate pressure being levelled at umpires.

I'm not capable of replicating that influence.
Did it affect the Jaiwal decision?

Yes I know your counter will be 'they put pressure on them after the Jaiwal decision' so back to conspiracies again.

From wisden when they commented on the law changes after Green's catch of Gil 2 years ago:

While there is no further definition of the "ground", it is generally accepted that a catch can still stand even if the ball touches the grass – it’s the ground underneath the grass that is out of bounds.
If this is the case then the catch was clearly out. There may be an argument that the ball lightly brushed the grass. But it is clearly apparent the ball never touched the ground.

Wilson should be forced to resign.

Like to run a book on how many times we’re going to have to suffer through watching a replay of Smith’s catch during today’s telecast?
And no!.. Don’t fall in the trap of a can for every time! You’ll be sideways before lunch
Does that include every news update for the next 12 hours that will probably lead with the footage?

Vaughan said Kohli was out too on Fox. I really like him as a commentator.
I lost all respect for Vaughan when he went off after sandpaper gate & got stuck into the Australian team.

Which was pretty ironic when you consider he was the captain of the 2005 England team that later admitted (and confirmed via Marcus Trescothcik's autobiography) to using breath mints to help shine the ball during that series.

He would have known all about it. Trescothick (and a few others) were the only ones shining the ball which would have been a team direction.

Absolute hypocrite

The fact he spilled the ball immediately after this says to me he didn't have full control as the ball touched the ground, so it's not out.
Benefit of doubt if it's line-ball anyway. And I really don't like Kholi.

None of this changes the decision that has already been made.

Some projection going on with this.

Would have loved to see Kohli out, but don't do what everyone accuses the Indian supporters of doing, crying over technology overturning a decision.
There is no conspiracy, no deep state plan, it was a decision made for better or worse.

You don't think the behaviour of the Indians after MCG was a factor here?

To be honest, I've known plenty of Brits and I'm very much in favor of them using breath mints more often.

Australia were called cheats for reviewing the Jaiswal decision in Melbourne which was correctly overturned

Now the Smith catch which looked to be out. Guess the Indians are the cheats now. Think that's how it works?

I wonder what that BCCI dickhead will say about it?

Need another two before lunch
I'd like it, but I don't know that I agree. Just need to keep hitting the right length, making them uncomfortable.

Boland and Cummins the key, provided they can stay on the fuller side of a good length on or just outside off stump. Let the pitch do the work.

If you have to pretend the large public pressure after that decision is a 'conspiracy', that tells you how you're going doesnt it?

I hope you're right - but all series it has seemed much easier to bat once the ball is older. Pitch can obviously vary though.

you could easily give that not out if impartial. It's not exactly in his hand or anything like a normal catch.
No good deciding the match on that. Play On !!!

I would've dearly loved to see it given out, but:

1) benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman

2) one frame just creates just enough doubt......so refer 1.

It hurts even more because JW isn't respected and the call fell to him of all people.
