There are still free tickets available at the Western United game for Saturday afternoon. Check the Western United website for details. Ballarat has a strong and we'll supported local competition, particularly in the junior competitions so I am anticipating a fairly good local crowd will take advantage of Ballarat's Summer weather and fill Mars Stadium.

A crowd of 5k plus would be seen as a positive considering what they get in Geelong.

I'd be a little bit surprised if they didn't get that number. Ballarat pulled a crowd of 4300 in the dead of winter to watch the Matildas a few years ago at Morshead Park (Capacity 4,500). They even got 2,500 locals last February to watch a rugby union friendly between the Melbourne Rebels and QLD Country. So 5000 isn't beyond expectation. The game has been well promoted in Ballarat.

Good result for Mel City with the Reds losing at home to Babble's Bogans. Still, can't help but feel the Smurfs will shit it in with the double this season, like Liverpool in the Premier League.

Although, just quietly, I think my lads can upset the Sydney applecart tomorrow night, we have had a unprecedented habit of rebounding well a week after a shitpiss performance this season..

oh and Georgeski's handball is never a penalty! how was that a clear and obvious error for the VAR to intervene? even worse for Beath to than overturn his own decision. Absolute joke the only saving grace was that Blackwood missed the penalty! Bin the VAR already ffs before it truly kills this league! I Didn't like the way Georgeski reacted through understandale but calm your **** boy you can't just walk of the pitch because a decision went against you lol

Tinpot league with being ruined by referees.

I think most teams would give anything for a player that cares as much as Georgevski, I can't believe we let him go.

oh like I said I understand it, but you can't whinge and walk of the pitch the way he did that is just bizarre and selfish he's not the only one on the pitch you know that also would have been hurting from that decision. Also doesn't sent a good message for young aspiring kids watching too.
Otherwise are we gonna be breading a generation of Nick Kyrgios's is that what we want?

Yeah 1st pen was pretty obvious to the naked eye right in front of the ref too, 2nd one was a sick joke with justice rightly served.
As babbel said in the post game var means ref's don't have to officiate properly because they've got var as a back up.

Seems consensus is to scrap var complete atmosphere killer which doesn't nothing to help the decisions.

You mean that childish flog who loses his temper with hilarious regularity ?? If he cared he wouldn't do the things he does, he's a liability to any team he plays for.

Wanderers should’ve had 10 men for 60 minutes of the game. Very comical for them to be complaining about officiating.

First penalty was probably one with the contact, second one I wouldn't have given - wasn't a clear and obvious error by Beath. Just as well Blackwood skied it.
Was it though? They should’ve had 10 men in the heat for 60 minutes.
Agree about the second penalty not being there but you can’t ignore the first corrupt decision that very likely would’ve been decisive to the result.

Should Adelaide of walked off the pitch in the first half? Should Halloran have protested and walked off?

As an Adelaide fan I definitely dont agree with the second penalty but you can’t set a precedent by
1) ignoring studs up off the ball kick outs at players behind play as it’s then considered ok
2) drawing the line by saying bad decisions give the players the right to throw tantrums and walk off the field

It was absolutely embarassing.

Oh of course, you can't lash out like that. Lucky Beath "didn't see it live".

Mars Stadium opens in less than 25 minutes time, and she's ready. But boy it's gonna be a hot one in the Rat ... who'd have thought? 👍

Official attendance, 5086. A good outcome considering that it's about 38 degrees here. Everybody's huddled into the stands.

It will be likely around 20 degrees and a crowd of several thousand when they play Melbourne City on Good Friday.

Didn’t see the first decision so can’t comment.

The second one you can understand his frustration. If the ref gave it live, then sure mistakes happen and you cop it on the chin, but for the muppet ref to come up with a bizarre decision like that after having the benefit of seeing a replay, I would be livid too.
