what are thoughts on his game last night?

Personally finding him frustrating... probably because I'm hanging on the idea that he could still become a much better player than he is now.

Some critical turnovers last night, but then did superbly at other times. Seems with every contest he either clearly lost or clearly won it - no break-evens.

Anyway, will probably make way for Cross / Griff this week you'd think.

It's probably a bit frustrating as he's played 3 - 4 less games (?) than Higgins, and theres obviously a pretty big gap. But he showed a bit tonight, really strong at the contest

Some fantastic physical efforts last night, made some team mates look good in some contests (there was one terrific marking contest where he cleared the way for someone else - think it was Ward). But I agree, his turn-overs and botched contests are a real blight on his game. He never takes a backward step, I'll give him that.

I love his hardness, but in a highly skilled team he sticks out like an erection in a wetsuit. His turnovers can be costly. Not a bad "fringe" player to have as you know he gives 100%, but I don't consider him in our best 22.

hooroo...

Did some good things and the third quarter turnover when he half volleyed a mark was probably the fault of the kicker as much as Addison.

Probably does not read the play quickly enough, but is very good in a one on one contest. His dispossession of Byrnes (?) in the second at about 50 was terrific. He also provides plenty of the things that don't show on the stats sheet.

He would seem to be under the gun for the return of Cross/Griffen

I would rather have him throwing himself fearlessly into a contest and lose tahn someone who doesn't have a go. Yes his skills are questionable, but so was West, Libba, Crossy. They all can't be jets.
I like him and would continue to use him as a bench player to come in and cause some physical mayhem on the ground when needed. Griffen should not be given an automatic thumbs up to come straight back, he has been a bigger disapointment than Dylan has. At least with Dylan you know what you get and he is as honest as the day is long. Griff is a bit of a tease really.
Griff is like Elizabeth Taylor saying ouch on her wedding night.

He has a job to do each week last night he played on Rooke for a while to me Rooke did not have too much of an infulence on the game.

Also remember he did his knee last year and it can take longer for them to come back. He is hard at it and he did chase last night and he did get the ball out of a couple of contest last night. Yes got caught a couple of time but one of those was a two on one contest.

He may make way for Cross or Griff but at then end of the day what we all think maybe way different to the coaching staff have in mind.

true, but if the coaching staff are to keep addison in then who are they going to omit?
i dont think they could be thinking THAT differently. i hope not anyway!

You'd suggest Reid and Addison to make way for Cross and Griffen.

Interesting though, as they're not like for like. Reid and Addison really hit other players hard. Cross is 'hard at it' but more so at the ball than the man. Griffen is more offensive.

He is going to be inconsistent for a while. As long as his effort is there I'm happy. Once Cross and Griffen are back in the side he won't be playing but he will be better for the experience. His quick skills need improving, as does his decision making.

A lot of other teams don't have players in reserve that try as much as he does though, so it could be worse.

When we look lazy and aren't applying enough pressure Addison is always having a crack and when we look lively and are applying pressure he still stands out. I love the way he goes about, just needs to improve a few areas and I think he could turn into the type of player that does well in finals.

Did a great job on Sherman last week who is a real danger player for the bears
Chapman did SFA when being tagged by DFA
Rooke is a key Cats contributor and did nothing "special" on Dylan
The boy has his shortcomings as a player, but should be in the 22
Won't kick a bag, get 30 touches or be BOG
But is deserving of his place

Griffen should not be given an automatic thumbs up to come straight back, he has been a bigger disapointment than Dylan has.

So better to put in a half-decent player who will consistently be half decent than a guy who can turn a game when he fires (and who is sure to draw one of the opposition's best taggers)? I can't agree with this at all. Griffin has only been a disappointment because we have such massive expectations of him. He will be straight back in for sure.

Needs a lot of improvement in key area's like Decision making, Marking, Hanball and Kicking. If he played League he would be perfect.

If Everitt could take a leaf out of this kids book for endevour, guts, and determination he would be a superstar. They both seem total opposites one with all the skills in the world but just doesn't have the GnD and the other with no skills but all the GnD.

Back to Addisson. If his skills do not improve next year I feel it will be his last as other players are defenitely going past him on the list. Add a few more to that next year and he Passport will be stamped.

This week at the selection table will be interesting because if one of Griffen or Cross is available who will Eade drop. If he drops Addison we will know that Reid has past him as well.

Can't agree with this at all....once Griffen & Cross are ready they'll both come straight back in & Addison will be a back-up.

I like Addison's hardness at the ball but i reckon his skills aren't polished enough to hold up under finals intensity.

People suggesting Griffen shouldn't come straight back in is total nonsense, as is the suggestion that he's soft.

Addison is an insurance policy during the finals, Griffen is a potential Norm Smith Medalist.

Spot on.

I have been an Addison fan, but there is no way that he could be selected ahead of Griffen.
