He needs more time, at least 20 more years, please understand. If there isn't a massive cleanout in this department after this draft I will completely lose hope that Essendon will ever get better. We'll simply see Scott sacked in a few years and the process will start again. Rinse and repeat every few years.
He's been here 24 years and for the last 18 of them we haven't even come close to winning a final. How does that happen?
We've always had gaping holes in the list during that time and continue to have them now. We've had no stars like pretty much all other good teams have had. Yes the saga happened but people forget he was around for 14 years before that.
How is he even defended? His stats are really quite atrocious when compared against the better teams during that time.

We already have scouts and a national recruitment manager, so you'd need to be looking more at his trade and retention record and ability to build lists of compatible players that suit the needs of the coach and the game plan without overpaying.I would definitely look at SOS. Not a perfect record of nailing picks but still decent in my opinion and has also shown he knows how to put a balanced list together.
Has some misses but generally does well with early picks as well. 2015 draft is an example with Weitering/Curnow/Mackay which will set up Carlton for a decade or more.
People wanting Dodoro sacked, who would you look to for the list management role? I think a lot of credit should go to SOS for how Carlton have resurrected themselves personally. He'd have to be in the mix if he was interested.

Last year was a remarkably quiet trade period. On a separate note, it seems to be assumed without question across a lot of threads that the reason we are not doing many trades this year is due to us being a "basketcase" and no-one in their right mind would want to come to us.
While that may be part of the reason, last year we only did a single trade when some people had us as premiership contenders. So it's not like this year is an outlier
It was hardly world beating. It was just fine.Dodoro coming into his own in the last few days of trade week…
