There will be a magical uptick in supporters positivity for the club… don’t think there will be any scarves thrown on the ground tonight. One thing I’d say - anybody who thinks the departure of Sheedy and Dodoro means some magical uptick in fortunes better think again.
Plenty more to be fixed beyond those two.
Tell us what to do Bruno! Tell us o wise one!
I heard they’re giving him a farewell draft - he gets to use our first pick on his preferred player…I hear that they’re making a banner of jackets for him to run through which is kinda sweet.
Maybe there is no buy in .I frequently do but no one listens.
Is he really apart of the Essendon Hall of Fame? The reality is if the saga did not happen (i know ) and we did not win any finals he would already be gone. Rightly or wrongly he got credit in the bank as the sid ehe way building was looking okay and it got blown up through no fault of his.
At the end of the day any anger should be directed at the club . They made the decision to keep him and let him run his own race at stages.
All I can say is he loved the club . He is as Essendon as any one of us maybe more . It was well past time to let him go but I am not angry at him. He was a good bloke with the master politician (Sheedy) in his corner. The club not having any balls is to blame for him being here too long.
It will be a pretty emotional time for him . He was never in it for the money or the just the job.
Good luck for the future Adrian.
Not sure if he is in the hall of fame but he is a life member .Is he really apart of the Essendon Hall of Fame?
You do and you don't.I frequently do but no one listens.
How does ours differ to say Collingwood?Nah, dependence on and therefore answering to the coteries.
Would love a complete remodel of the club's financial "model", meaning coterie influence is more similar to that at other clubs.
Only so fans don't boo him?Does he get a lap of honour in the back of a ute tonight? Sitting next to Hep?
Good question. You don't hear about Eddie (and whoever replaced him) being held hostage by financial backers, though. How does ours differ to say Collingwood?
Agreed, same with sheedy. I don't care what he did in past and that he loves the club, because at some point in the early 00s he started to think he was bigger than the club and prioritised his self interests.I really don't care if Dodo is a good bloke or if he loves the club. Those things are irrelevant. I would much rather someone who is not nice and who doesn't love the club if that person could actually do their job well and help set us up for success.
I agree anger should be directed at the club, they are a complete basket case. However, I do understand the frustration directed at Dodo. I believe that if he really cared about the club, he would have stepped aside long ago given the objectively bad record and lingering questions about his performance. He's a multimillionaire with all of his property investing, so it's not like he needed the money.
I’ve heard he knocked the lap of honour back for tonight and is waiting for the Grand Final instead.Only so fans don't boo him?
I remember saying no one older than Parish would be there.I tend to agree - think there’s a huge chance noone currently on our list will be there the next time we win a final
