Delisted Adrian Dodoro - Lodged a dispute with FairWork. Paid out. Gone. #putoutyourjackets

The prototype midfield for Dodoro was 2000, which was really at its core quite workmanlike (Denham, JJ, Joey, Barnes, Heffernan) with the real class coming from hybrid/flanker types like Hirdy, Blumfield, Cara, Mercuri and Rama all working through there (sound familiar?).

The comp soon evolved with Brisbane who had the next gen balanced midfield (that absolutely torched us regularly). And we have since found every possible reason to invest in talls and flankers - a 20 year glacier speed cluster ****.

I feel that wheel is starting to turn where we took that chance on Caldwell. Wright was a really weird one that we probably just lucked out on.

Wright was always showing good potential to be an AFL standard KPF, just not as the sole target.

He’s a fairly straightforward player that can win 1on1s and kick straight, he just can’t hold down an entire forward line reliably solo like a Hawkins did for Geelong for years. He’s also one of the better ruck/forward types in the comp when used in that role.

It's all starting to make sense now....................
Yeah at the end of the day you have to build a list that can compete for 23 rounds plus finals, even and especially when injuries hit. It may be masterful accounting to hide the shit in the footnotes, but it's not masterful list management to cherry pick the few good bits as evidence of success and ignore the rest.

Like I get that people had a lot of faith, including me, in the 2013-2015 list build that coulda woulda shoulda and ultimately did not achieve even a finals win. And if he wants to make excuses for Dodoro on that basis, that's at least understandable even if a lot of people here don't like it and want blood.

But what I find really concerning is that even at board level, we're cherry picking evidence of success. If you're trying to delude yourself and pander to confirmation bias, selective appreciation of the evidence is your first step.

Take the damned blinkers off and look around.

This is going to go well.:p

Should be sacrificed but he gets a pass because he has been half decent and not a total **** up and it was not his fault the Saga killed off his last build.

talking about "a flag in 2-3 years" makes me very nervous that they plan to abandon the rebuild and blow all our cap space/draft picks on bringing in blokes like degoey and burn out having peaked at a 6th place finish 😬

He's untouchable... I think I'm done with this club for awhile.
Or is it the same code when the president of a club says the coach is safe mid season ?

I hope you're right but it's the same stuff we hear about Adrian even when we're going (somewhat) well. I had no faith they'd have the balls to sack him before Brasher's interview with Whateley, this just confirmed my suspicions.
