If Dodoro is half the man that he is portrayed to be by his small supporter group, he would accept responsibility and leave the club permanently.

No matter what very few highlights he has had and the challenges with COVID and the supplement saga, he is an abject failure as a professional and to the organisation in his role which is obviously a key component to on field success.

Barham coming out publicly and praising Dodoro was pretty dumb, just gives Dodoro reassurance and confidence that he is/has been doing a great job and in his eyes is indispensable. Which is really really poor.

Be interesting to see what this was like at the bye, off the top of my head it probably would have been Merrett, Langford, McKay and maybe Ridley as well depending on whether there is a games qualifier. Maybe Martin as well.

The issue is the same as it always has been, they are not rock hard fit and can’t do it for an entire season.

Perkins - 2 year extension early in the year
Menzie - 1 year before the end of the season
McGrath - 6 years
Parish - 6 years

I think and have always thought it’s by far and away the biggest issue.

Listened to the Lunchtime Catchup Pod with RoCo who recounted all 28 of Essendon's top 20 picks since 2000. By god it was a terrible listen. An absolute dogshit list of players. Ryder, Hurley and Daniher stood out head and shoulders above the rest, with Daniher falling into our lap as F/S.

Dodoro might have done well with some later picks, pre/mid-season picks etc, but any club that bottles 90% of its top 20 picks for two decades straight is going f***ing nowhere. And this isn't even going into his complete failure to create a single balanced list in his entire tenure.

You can (absolutely fairly) point to other contributing factors to our ongoing shitness - coaching, development, poorly run organisation, saga, etc ad finitum. But no-one by any imaginable measure - even the man himself - can genuinely argue with any kind of credibility that Dodoro has done a reasonable job - let alone a good job - let alone the fantastic incredible job that would justify him staying employed by the club for the 20+ years that he's been around.

I'm not usually much of a conspiracy theorist but there's something seriously fishy about this obvious failure still being around. There's just no way that those in charge don't want him out. What does he know? What strings is he pulling? WTF is going on?
