How have the Eagles remained a consistent finals side for the best part of 20 years? I think they've only missed the finals twice or 3 times in that period?
There Junior players are not being poached by Private schools, their depth is not being poached by Country leagues where they get paid more money. And they have some money to spend on Talent

Players aren't poached by private schools..... They go to school at private schools.

There’s one in particular who does quite a bit of poaching, but that’s from other schools. Causing a fair amount of unrest too. Threats from other schools to exclude them from SAAS competition if the “scholarships” aren’t reduced.

But that’s aside from what you responded to and you were of course spot on. Silly suggestion and Eagles have talented kids at St Michaels and St Peter’s.

Lets see wasnt there 5 from last years gf got drafted or was it 6 ?
And only 1 of those played in the League Grand Final Lachie Jones a lad from Paskeville, Rhyan Mansell was a 20 year old Tasmanian import.

Unless of course you mean that hairy assed young kid James Rowe.

They do lose many to the afl tho as it was stated 6 were drafted from last year plus sharman this year
WWT can hardly take any credit for Cooper Sharman's development he came through the GWS Academy then the Oakleigh Chargers while studying at Deakin Uni.

So the Administrators are wanting to encourage Umpiring ......way to go on that count

Still had to go to Fairwork, but SANFL trying to come out as the good guys

About 40 SANFL umpires who worked the “entire season without being paid a cent” will now be paid, reports FIVEaa Breakfast’s David Penberthy.

“They received none of their match fees… there’s about 40 of them who didn’t get paid at all by the SANFL because of this weird misreading of JobKeeper…

“One of the umpires broke ranks and said stuff this for a joke I’m taking them to the Fair Work Commission and he won… the upshot of Fair Work’s decision was this is not how JobKeeper is meant to wor
k

“Now to its credit the SANFL – they gave me a statement late yesterday saying the SANFL highly values the important contribution to our game of state league umpires… the good news for the umps – they’re all going to get paid.”
